Halo Secure Recording Length

Halo secure needs to record the last 10 minutes rather than the last 30 seconds and next 30 seconds. I don’t understand this at all.

If anything, users should be given the option of how long their recording is when they manually hit the halo secure “save video” button.

Learn something from Tesla and save the last 10 minutes.

For using the horn, it should be 1 minute pre and post, or maybe 1 minute pre and 2 minutes post. That’s fine.

If you’re manually triggering the recording of an event, chances are it’ll be several minutes after the event occurred that you’d remember to record. So it’s best if the system were to have a cushion for recordings otherwise you will have missed the event entirely.

If the recording is triggered by honking, then the current system works. But for manual triggering, the current system is not sufficient.

Having owned a Tesla for 8+ years already, there have been numerous occasions where I’d manually trigger to save the recording. Sometimes I decide to save a recording several minutes after. A lot of these recordings are where I’m a bystander that witnessed an accident or something else. But I can tell you that for most of these incidents, the first thing isn’t always to hit the record button. The thought to save the recording comes several minutes after it had already passed. Bottom line is the default 30 seconds is no where near sufficient.

All of the dashcams I have are in continuous mode so I genuinely would like to learn the technological benefits, or limitations, for Lucid to set up Halo Secure this way.

Couldn’t agree more. I have a 1TB SSD being used for Halo Secure. At this rate, I’d have to be honking every day for the rest of my ownership for it to be used up.
