20205 Lucid Touring
Hi all, I have a '25 Touring (Red, platinum glass roof, 20-way seats, Comfort & Convenience) on it's way from the Factory in AZ to Chicago, should be here by this weekend with delivery to be scheduled thereafter.

I sold my Tesla Model 3 Performance last week - It was a great car, I just couldn't stand to be associated with the brand any more, and the Lucid Air was such a better car when I test drove it. Put of my old Model 3 and the stickers I had put on it before I traded it in.

Congrats from fellow Chicago Area leasor:)

Will you be going to the Oak Brook studio to take delivery? They have done a fantastic job.

Welcome to the Chicago chapter of the Lucid Owners Club. :)

We have a Fathom Blue Stealth GT in the northwest suburbs. We also wave at every Air we see.

I don't know yet - I was told by Evan at the Oakbrook Studio that I should plan delivery at Goose Island (did not think Oakbrook Studio was an option) - he has been very helpful throughout the process and was very knowledgeable on the test drive.

LOL I get the wave, as the former owner of a TJ Jeep Wrangler and currently a C6 Corvette. I'll make it a point to as well. I have not seen a lot of Lucid Air's on the roads locally (a nice change as the white Tesla thing was getting way out of hand)

Just scheduled delivery for tomorrow afternoon at Goose Island 🤟

Congrats on the new AT!

I've been wondering if Lucid is picking up converts from TSLA given recent news. I guess so... Enjoy your new ride.

Studio guy just contacted me and said PDI found 2 small scratches - asked if I wanted to proceed with delivery tomorrow and fix it later - I said yes and am happy they disclosed it - they look fairly minor (second one is more concerning due to presence on a body crease, I actually want to see it in person before correction - the first is in a major shadow line and should be undetectable after repair). Stuff happens and I'd rather have it corrected properly (than say a full panel respray with overspray etc). That said it's some hefty orange peel on the rest of the paint that I may need to correct with a 2 stage prior to ceramic.

Stuff happens - transport guys can be gorillas :D Looks to me like someone opened the drivers rear door into something concrete

Sorry about this delivery issue.
I believe they use a shop a few blocks from the Goose Island facility.
Are you in the take delivery then bring it back in or wait for it to be right camp?
Anyway, congratulations.
Where in the city are you located?
I am in E Lakeview.

I'll take delivery and then bring it back for the work. I'm way out west (Plainfield), but I work downtown so I can drop it off for them to have at it. I'm glad they disclosed it, I feel confident they'll address it based on their forthright honesty (and asking me how I wanted to handle it). Oakbrook studio fellow warned me it may be a multi-day fix (which I accepted, but doubt). It will give me a chance to spot any other big paint corrections needed, and see the paint in it's raw form (I requested soap&water wash only, no toppers/sealants/waxes - no beading or add on gloss needed). Up-side is they've had it less than a day so I can see how it left the paint shop/QC for the most part. I'd rather see it this way and do my own, thank have it monkeyed with a ton, but I'm strange that way, and I know my way around paint.

I find the Goose Island folks to be pretty good
Not surprised it would be more than a day, noting it has to go to a third party shop
Drop off, paperwork, cleaning, prep, multi-step coatings, maybe some sanding in between, inspection, another cleaning, paperwork

My other factor in taking delivery and having it fixed later is I have $15K in incentives right now - if I take delivery before the end of the month - unknown next month and I'm not leaving that up to a Chicago body shop over these 2 scratches based on their scheduling.

That overcomes a bit of minor inconvenience later, well played.

There is a chicago chapter of the lucid owners club? Need to join that.

It'll be interesting to see if this actually happens. It's supposed to be a lease (also have a gravity on order), and I'm about 4 hours from my scheduled pickup. I have not seen a scrap of paperwork yet (despite my asking a billion times). My part was fully done 12 days ago (offer accepted, insurance, id, everything uploaded). Seems Lucid Financing (aka Bank of America, yuck) is going out of their way to mess it up by doing nothing, LOL. I'm an 850 credit score and putting the max down on the net $8/month lease. Would have just paid cash if I knew this was going to be such a problem (first time I have ever leased).

If I do see paperwork in time before I make the scheduled 1 hour drive for delivery, I'll need to scramble to procure a cashiers check (no time for wire transfer)- I don't even have a payee or amount yet - despite 2 weeks of asking.

who is your sales person from the studio? If it's the same one I had, then I can understand your frustration.

Evan. I get the feeling he is very new to Lucid (and frankly still has that franchise dealership mode to him where he used to work). Big problem is he waited until the very very last minute - literally like 30 minutes prior to delivery to process the lease properly (send me the contract) - after it sat untouched at Lucid for 12 days with no action on it despite my consent prodding to get me the contract.

Lease terms changed at the last minute also (miles per year) (minor, but affected the cash due at signing by $100), I had already had the cashier's check cut at 12PM by the bank then 30 mins later they changed the balance sheet. On top of it he told me as I was leaving for the delivery center that Goose Island won't accept a Cashier's Check??? That's on the delivery associate also though as I'd been tell her I would need to do a cashier's check as same day domestic wire transfer would not be feasible given the last minute processing - she should have pointed that out as well.

On my way to Goose Island now. A whole lot of frantic in the last hours - not how I wanted spend my Saturday, and I've had to push time and time and time and time again to get very simple things done. If they do not delivery the car painlessly, I am walking and I'll have my lawyer sort it out at this point. Somebody should mentor or shadow these new studio folk through their first few transactions, IMO - felt like I was doing the on the job training.

I'm glad I got the massage seats - I'll need to relax on the way home 🤣 This has not been a positive buying experience so for for me. Hoping the car is better than the process.
