First of all, thanks to all of you in this forum for being an invaluable source of information during the “contemplation” phase. I’ve finally made a deposit and confirmed a new Touring from existing inventory. I made a compromise on Surreal Sound instead of Pro and Mojave leather instead of Tahoe, but love everything else: Fathom blue | Aluminum roof | 20” aero lite stealth wheels | 14-way ventilated seats | Comfort & convenience | Surreal Sound.

My friend bought a Pure a little over a year ago and has been singing its praises ever since. That combined with my attraction to the car, its engineering, and the information from members here helped confirm this as my next car choice. I had no idea the deals were this strong so I ended up moving forward much faster than I anticipated. I’d say several factors contributed:

1. Bought a 2020 Model S Performance only 18 months ago. I love the car, honestly. But at 56k miles and no warranty on my first EV, I was wondering how long I’d keep it.
2. Values were declining - fast. And I’d already lost enough in 18 months. Offer to sell will more than cover my lease. Stop the bleeding now.
3. Great deals and wife liked the car, too after a test drive. Last week she said “so are you going to get the Lucid.?” Done. Order placed lol.

I am awaiting my delivery date but excited to join the family soon and experience what this car is all about.

Nice choice! I see you've got the stealth wheels, did you go with the full stealth appearance package? I think fathom blue with the stealth package looks absolutely boss. Gotta post a pic once you take delivery!

Thanks! I need to fix that. Yes, I did get the full stealth package.

At first I was disappointed with the SS (Non-pro) but after the 2.6.x update, it was much improved. I'm not going to say it's amazing, but it's perfectly serviceable. To the point where I originally felt I absolutely NEEDED to add a small subwoofer to the back, and now it's more of a "well it would be nicer"

That's reassuring. I agree with you and think the risk of waiting until more inventory became available wasn't worth it. It's all timing.

In no way do I want to rain on your parade as I am excited for you!! That said, did you ever listen to the two different sound systems? Depending on what you listen to (and how often), SS vs. SSP has made a very big difference in some members’ here enjoyment of their cars.

Nice choice of colors! I have the same Fathom Blue, aluminum roof and 20” stealth! Its a looker! I also got an on-site car and made compromise by skipping the massaging seats ($3500) which I really wanted. But hey I saved $5500!

I also have the regular surreal sound. I’m not an audiophile and I think it’s adequate for my needs. It’s not bad at all.

No worries about that! I didn't listen to both, but I think the test drive vehicle I had was standard Surreal Sound. I specifically remember all the posts here about standard surreal sound so I wanted to hear it for myself. Believe me, I've no doubt there is a big difference. I may regret not opting for a different color, waiting for the next lot, or compromising on something else, but I decided I wanted to move forward with what I have. I'm sure I'll enjoy the car regardless based on all the rave reviews.

Nice! Yes, I guess I can say I saved $2k+ on SSP. I'll learn to like regular surreal sound so good to hear it's adequate for you. I'll probably be fine.

Awesome, and with that attitude I am sure you WILL love the car. Some folks here seem to come with an expectation of perfection beyond human capability!!

No perfection attitude from me. I had a Tesla, remember lol. No, but seriously, I do appreciate engineering and tech. And I know software is the way forward in the automotive business so things will continue to evolve. It’s just great we can experience this now on a platform that is ahead in so many ways.
