Gravity to be in “select” studios this spring

I called the Seattle studio this afternoon and asked when they would be getting the Gravity in the studio. The response given was that it will “come to select studios this coming spring”. Which interpret as “not in Seattle any time soon”.

That was the first time I had heard a semi-specific time frame for Gravity coming to studios. Nothing earth shattering but encouraging when combined with the photos that @Joe keeps finding and posting on the forum.

Has anyone heard anything similar?

So, nothing in showrooms before late March? (I know that sales people can be woefully ill-informed on Lucid products, but this sounds like an official company response someone has been directed to give to such inquiries.)

Any idea what "coming to select studios" means? A roped-off demo in the showroom? A car one can sit in? A car for test driving?

If, indeed, production is imminent, as Rawlinson said recently, how could it be spring before Gravities show up in showrooms, and then only in "select" ones?

I think it's been proven time and time again that studio sales folks often have no clue what's going on, and we usually have more knowledge of things than them. Given this, I put no stock in any answer they'd give regarding timing of Gravity.

Lucid said on their own website last week that cars will be showing up in studios early 2025.

Well “early” could mean the first 3 months of the year, and spring technically starts March 21st or 22nd….Eureka! The end of March must be it!!!! 🤪

Wait @hmp10 already said that….doh!

If it is in the showroom, and it is a production version, then they better let one at least sit in it!

My bet is they will be putting them in the locations that already have larger Lucid owner populations/high cost of living = high income, or near headquarters. I say this because multiple months ago I called the Vancouver, Canada location as that is the nearest location to Northwest Oregon to test drive. I was asking about test driving Gravity in the future.
The sales person’s response was that the Bay Area studio locations historically received the newest models first. (we were only discussing the West Coast)

I know, I know, don’t trust the sales person, but that makes sense to make it easier to keep an eye on a new model because the engineers are right there to troubleshoot any problems.

I wouldn't be shocked if they don't have any Gravity in showrooms until March. It really depends on preorders. How many they have to build. If it's between a customer who has already plunked down $1k and a studio, they're going to deliver to the customer in the short term.

I know that sounds like short-term thinking, but the reality is that preorders turn into cancelations pretty quick if they don't get delivered.

I'd bet the major studios will have a show car, probably pulled from the preproduction fleet, sooner than that. But smaller locations will likely not get one until February or March. I could see that. And test drives, unfortunately, will likely be even later than that.

But as always, take anything said by a Sales Associate with a giant mound of salt.

At least they have plenty of Airs to use as loaners for any Gravity customers who end up needing service.

Gravity prototype (can see the exterior, can't sit inside) will be in Millbrae Dec 12 - Dec 16.
See you folks there!

I've been to these "special invitation" events twice, once at the West Palm Beach studio and once at the Miami/WorldCenter studio. Both times the Gravity was on view to anyone who walked in far outside the hours of the "special event" -- an event the local sales staff knew nothing about beforehand. In fact, at West Palm the car went on display the day before the event -- for which we had rescheduled a league tennis match to attend.

There might be some HQ marketing people on hand for the event, but if the time given is not a fit for your schedule, a call ahead might reveal that you can show up outside that window. You'll miss the spread of sandwiches that'll be put out, but you'll still be able to see the car . . . and maybe with a less of a crowd.

Also, the studio team that "will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have" might come up a bit short on the answers to most questions. I found them to have less information about the Gravity than I did from reading this forum.

I don't mean to be cynical, because I love this company and its products. But their sales & marketing can be a bit haphazard.

Definitely get in to see the Gravity, though. It's a remarkable vehicle.

Given that Millbrae is like 45 min from HQ it may be a bit different there.

It wasn't a factor a year ago when all they (Millbrae) had were pictures and I knew more than the guy who had been tasked with printing them out. So disappointing.

Having said that, I did sign up, but I'm planning on calling or visiting tomorrow to see if it's there yet. The email I received said that it will be available for in-studio viewing from the 12th to the 16th.

I dropped by the Millbrae studio today and confirmed that it is an older prototype with no interaction allowed. It's Lunar Titanium, though, which I hadn't seen in person before. VIN 002 for some range of probably prototype VINs.

I was in the studio today also (picking up a loaner, but that's a different story!). They were spiffing it up so I got some pictures of the interior.

That's an interesting interior color choice for a light silver car. I'm thinking Mojave or Yosemite.

If I decide to switch my order from Aurora Green, that's the combo I'm going for. It's probably going to depend on when the Lunar Titanium becomes available.

Hoping to see one in the Atlanta area.

I would be surprised if it was later than February after assurances from various sales people that early 2025 was the timing and gravity production was imminent. Yes they have to deliver cars for orders taken in November but how difficult is it to take a dozen cars or so considering the plant’s capacity and ship them to showrooms (and car reviewers)to further spur sales? I would further bet that since the gravity is on the same production line they could switch over to nearly all gravity production since there are lots of airs still on the lots. My two cents

Peter mentioned in his recent Bloomberg interview that the first vehicles out of the production line is going into showrooms. Your guess is spot on.
