How about someone who has sat in the offices and conference rooms of CEO's of large, publicly-held companies to help them noodle through staffing and organization questions?

It seems frowned upon here, and often it is alleged that it is "against the rules." Is it? If it really is, and really will be clamped down on by the mods, then might I humbly suggest that it be stated as such in the forum guidelines?
 
I think it's very positive that Lucid's PR team is acknowledging the need to address software bugs, and that they "still have more work to do." Public statements like this create urgency for the company to follow through, and I am sure they know that when they choose to say it. (Unlike some others on this forum, I think that Lucid chooses its words very carefully, so that it can keep the promises it makes.)

I am not qualified to speculate on how Lucid should follow through, either from a technical or organizational standpoint, but I like what I hear.

both those EE and OOS videos lit a fire….otherwise they were dragging their feet thinking all is ok.

This pending software update is probably weeks if not months in the works. The only thing the EE and OOS videos might have effected is Nick Tworks “announcement” of the pending update.

Respectfully, this is nonsense.

Lucid engineers, their leadership, and board of directors are WELL aware the software may kill the company. They are most certainly burning the candle at both ends to improve the experience. They are not stupid.

It used to be. It got removed to simplify the guidelines some time ago, iirc, and because it seemed overly broad.

But I could be misremembering, too.

Are you seriously suggesting that people who own Lucid stock and Lucid products should be blocked from speculating on and discussing what might or might not be going on inside the company? The fact that it might be based on limited access to facts should not matter unless the person posting is claiming to have actual knowledge they do not.

It would be analogous to banning public discussion and questioning of what someone thinks may be happening with government just because the person opining is not behind the closed doors of government or has not held a government position himself.

You're right, but it's also true that they didn't speak up until these videos were posted. Unfair to all the owners here who've been saying the exact same things for months.

They are a public company. They are much less free about what they can say and when they can say it than, for example, owners here.

But them not saying it doesn’t mean they’re ignorant idiots.
 
Can we please bring this one back to purpose of the incoming software update? There are other threads, or you can start them, for the other stuff (which is interesting, but not for here IMO).

This is a private forum and it can have whatever rules it wants. Obviously the government cannot block speech about Lucid, but a private forum can, and the mods can enforce them, if they want to.

My only suggestion was that if certain behaviors were unwelcome here, it might be nice if the lines were drawn clearly and effectively. Having been on the wrong side of the "armchair CEO" accusation in the past, I remember the confusion of wondering "hey, i read the rules, and I don't remember seeing that" and then going back and re-reading the rules and saying "yeah, still not seeing it."

I just saw an opportunity for us to clarify whether or not this forum wants to allow that or not.

I'm still not sure I'm clear though 😅

Well that's no fun.

Even once updates have fixed all the current bugs, we still will need to talk about how it took them so long and they possibly came too late (everybody has left the party), etc.

All fair. We, the mods, should take another look at the guidelines; we do it every so often, and it's been a while.

Genuine question: did they not do this for the Air? (I have an Air Pure, so I wouldn't have seen an ADAS-related update, anyway.) As for the Gravity, year ain't over yet!
