Gravity Service Appointments and Time In Service

Picking up here from where I mentioned my driver side rear window issue in the bugs thread.

To their credit, Lucid service was super responsive and took my car in to SC today - first day I was back from my roadtrip. They also already out in an order for the window regulator which was the issue initially back in August that they fixed.

I will get a loaner and be fine. As much as it sucks to be in service, it’s far better to get a Lucid loaner than uber credits from Tesla or Rivian or some crappy loaner from Enterprise (via Rivian). I am guessing it will take some time, but they are clearly trying to be helpful and understand it was a pain to be on a roadtrip with a window issue.

Lucid clearly communicated to me and updated me today. Would I prefer to have my Gravity to drive? Yes. But if it needs service, I appreciate the Lucid experience (so far).

I think the SCs are likely overwhelmed. They’ve never had to support so many Air and now Gravity. As I’ve said before, scale is HARD. I do hope they succeed as the Gravity is my perfect car when it’s fully operational.

The significant quality problems with the Gravity launch are presumably causing a lot of the backlog. All in all, reports like this do give me pause about accepting delivery of my GGT in a couple weeks.

I advise not to take delivery if you can and wait for a year. You will pull your hair out and want to kill somebody once the problems start.

To any prospective Gravity buyer, if the above sounds even close to your sentiment, please wait a year or even two before buying.
Even moreso if you're already bald. :)
 
Dropped off my GGT this afternoon at KoP in PA to get my DD Pro fixed as it won’t engage
Was overall a pleasant and positive experience and I was surprised to have received a GGT as a loaner instead of an Air Pure and they let me know that turnpike fees are paid for by Lucid which I thought was a nice touch

does DDPro work on your loaner?
 
car is done! less than 2 days to complete

according to report they found the front camera was malfunctioning and thus recalibrated and so the adaptive cruise worked but DD did not
the wheel sensor was not working so the they replaced the assembly and now it all works
also got an extra fob for my wife (this did cost money)

they offered to drop off the vehicle but I will pick it up so they can help with setting up the fob for my wife's seating settings etc

Now start paying attention to the left touchpad’s responsiveness in controlling DDPro feature. There is a common problem of it having poor touch / press response, possibly getting worse over time.

took a little adjustment but once I found the sweet spots for the buttons it's been fine on the 1st click
 
Update for my window. It was actually fixed and completed Monday (so very quick after drop off) but couldn’t pick up until today. All seems fine now. Hard to believe the same issue happened twice with window regulator, but it’s all good and service was super responsive and great to work with!

With your luck, I’d consider having a spare regulator on hand for trips.:-)

My car was also at KOP to fix DD not being available along with frunk and door issues, and the work was also completed in just about 2 days.

This included replacing the wheel and both passenger side door handles. The handles were replaced because I had reported that those doors were noticeably harder than the others to open. I wasn’t sure if they were going to tell me it was in spec or not, because when I originally reported the problem they suggested the doors might just need to be broken in more. Nevertheless it was an actual issue and the handles were replaced.

This is my car’s second visit to KOP and both times it was in and out in a couple days despite needing parts replaced both times.

Is the PGH for Pittsburgh? If so thats a haul to go to KoP

Yes! Lucid has transported it for me both times it has needed service (in an enclosed trailer, no less). If not for the fact that the transport companies are extremely unreliable/bad at scheduling, it would only be a minor inconvenience.

Yep. They’re all independent contractors and Lucid (and Rivian and Tesla) just put out a request on some random marketplace.

Can I ask what the cost was for the extra FOB?

Yeah this last trip I got 4 different pickup windows over the course of 2 days, all of which were missed until the driver finally showed up on the morning of the 3rd day basically unannounced 🤦🏻‍♂️
 
$238 inclyded extra fob and programming and sales tax
