Gravity Release Timeline

Do you know something I don’t? lol. Their cash and cash equivalents far exceed their current burn rate, at least from what I can see.

It's been widely reported.

Right, Q2 2026 from the recent earnings call, 15-ish months. IMO there will likely be a few more funding events before the Midsize models reach mass production:

"With regard to our liquidity position, we ended the quarter with total liquidity of approximately $6.13 billion. Due to our cost transformation efforts and cash management, we expect our current liquidity will now give us runway into the second half of 2026. In addition to the recent upsizing of the GIB facility, I would also highlight that this does not include future SIDF loans or MISA grants. Moving to capex, our focus is increasing investments in our future growth initiatives, and we expect capital expenditures for 2025 to be approximately $1.4 billion."

I have a classmate that I talked into getting a gravity but her Jaguar is dead / dying and she needs a car soon. What is the latest on the situation of short term Air lease to Gravity purchase? I know this has been discussed but I can’t seem to find the thread. Also what is the timeline to the Gravity touring trim as she hates to spend more than 90 k for a car and is not concerned about the loss of range. She is getting a lucid for the pet mode as she picks up her puppy in a month and as it’s a Landsear ( a brown and white Newfoundland) she will need the Gravity by the end of the year as those pups generally range from 120 to 190 lbs and grow fast. She has looked at the Tesla, Mustang and Rivian but likes the lucid best as it looks classy in her estimation.

Shortest lease term is going to be 18 months if Lucid is still offering it.

Touring isn’t going into production until later this year and based on the Grand Touring deliveries being pretty much non-existent I’d be extremely surprised if Touring get delivered before Q1 / Q2 next year.

The Polestar 3 might be worth a look too. Very attractive lease terms.

She had looked at that as well, still liked the Lucid best. So the talk about lucid offering a short term lease with an Air until you got the Gravity was just speculation, nothing concrete?

My Lucid SA has been pushing me very hard to take an Air on a short-term lease as a tide-over until Gravity is ready, but they've all been 18-month minimum leases. It's smart of him to do that - sell what you can to a qualified and interested potential customer if you don't have exactly what he/she wants in the meantime.

Talk of Air leases that would terminate immediately upon Gravity delivery, or on shorter than 18-month terms, is just wishful thinking IMO. Nobody has actually ever seen such a creature.

I would encourage her to consider the BMW iX. I am very happy with mine. AND the dealer took $9900 off the MSRP. I doubt Lucid would take any off the MSRP for a Gravity right now. My BMW iX MSRP was $94k, but could have been $2k less if it didnt have one of the optional packages i dont need. Lucid did take about $6k off the MSRP for my Air in Oct 2024. The iX did very well in the 2025 JD Power Owner Satisfacion Survey. https://electrek.co/2025/03/02/bmw-ix-snatches-the-top-spot-in-j-d-power-ev-satisfaction-survey/
