They ride well, 100 miles and no complaints. Previous vehicle also rode on 22s so maybe I am used to it but it rides smoother than my Aviator on 22s

I needed this car in the first half of the year as I needed to replace my car then. It was the dream replacement for my Model X. It didn't happen in that time frame (which I knew it might not) and it wasn't clear it was going to happen within any reasonable time frame after that (which is what I expected - maybe I'd rent a car for a few weeks or a month?) so I ended up getting another car. It was supposed to be my temporary or secondary car when my Gravity eventually arrived. That was months ago. Having lived with it for several months it went from "OK, I can live with this for a bit" to "I absolutely love this car." followed by "Gravity who? Oh, yeah, I'm waiting for one of those". I kept asking for more information and I kept asking for a test drive that was more than driving around the block to see how great it was, but the questions never got answers and the test drives kept being disappointing - all the while I'm falling in love with what was supposed to be my temporary car.

A buyer could walk in to the Studio and drive out with a car, but I couldn't take a more than 15 minute test drive (yes, even a month ago, they only let me go 1 exit down the highway and turn back).

Then I was told in August that my car would go into production on October 9th. I had lost a lot of enthusiasm by then and gained a lot of familiarity and love for my temp car, but I thought, well great, I'll guess I'm going to become a 2 car household.

Then October arrived and October 9th passed and it was still not in production. And every day after that and for a couple of weeks, it still wasn't in production. And every single day I was reminded that the enthusiasm that had blossomed almost a year prior when I placed my order was nearly depleted and my love for another car that I never expected to keep completely overshadowed anything I expected from the Gravity (except for 3 rows which I really don't need when you come down to it).

And, meanwhile you have to watch people walk into a Studio and walk out with a Gravity ... after having given them your deposit a year ago ... and never getting an opportunity to see how well it handles.

So, after a couple of weeks of waiting to see it go into production and it hadn't I decided to cancel.

So, I log in to cancel and suddenly it's listed as "In Production". D!

I canceled anyway. I would have loved to replace my Model X with the Gravity, but they kept me out until I fell in love with my Polestar, warts and all. They gave me time to realize that I really don't need 3 rows no matter how cleverly they are packaged. And, if you take away the 3 rows, Gravity still has "really good handling". But, never having been given the opportunity to experience this really good handling, while I've had 6 months of driving my temp car which handles like a sports car (not like a really good handling SUV, like an actual sports car that happens to have the space of an SUV). I've driven up Woodside/84 with an M3 Competition behind me struggling to keep up - with an SUV? - nah, I'm good on the handling front.

So, I've canceled and they aren't giving me my deposit back. Because I held out 1 day too long after a year of waiting on them...

I still hold stock, but that's feeling more and more risky every day.

I'll probably come back for the Earth, which will hopefully be as much luxury as the Gravity but in a smaller and more effiicent package.

Sorry to leave the fold, but not really missing out on the car that they never got around to delivering until after I'd already fallen in love with another...

Glad you were able to find a temp car that turned into your keeper.

Sorry dude. Can’t say I blame you. Too much about this launch has been really bad. Glad you are happy in a new ride. Enjoy it in good health!
 
Ended up grabbing an available one that was only one option off from my spec (had tech instead of power) so we jumped on it for the Black Friday deal so I'll be taking delivery of a different spec than my original order.
 
Picked up ours today, as ordered, in Denver.
 
Update-Received my gravity on Weds, November 26, 2025. Only change was from Mojave to the Mojave PurLuxe. I did take a in process vehicle when I called to change the interior.
 
Took delivery of my Gravity on 12/16. I changed from the Tahoe interior to Ojai, and added the tow package.

An update on this.

I was perfectly happy with the Polestar 3 until around May. The handling is stellar and I can live with the remaining quirk(cough - bug)s.

But... in early May I stood up from a dinner table and my hip went all wonky. A fair bit of "muscle tightness" type of pain and I was barely able to walk much less lift it to get into a car.

The main drawback for the P3 has always been entry/exit. It's just too narrow a doorway to easily hop into if you aren't (ahem) young and spry. I'm not very (that), and after my hip acted up I became not (that) at all. I lived with it for the month, finally got x-rays and an MRI and an orthopedist recommended cortisone which felt a lot better. A couple of weeks after that and my leg is almost back to normal functions, but I really feel uncomfortably out-of-whack trying to get in and out of the Polestar. I really dread getting back in when I need to go somewhere. No more sporty mid-life crises for me. Why I'm barely over 30! (doubled...)

I test drove an R2 a couple of days ago and really loved it. I wanted it to be an option, but... it won't really be shipping for another few months, and it really isn't designed for the kind of sporty driving I want to do. It has good power and grip, but the seats don't hold you in place very well (a couple of mid-speed corners and I was pushed against the door/center console) and waggling the steering wheel has a very "high center of gravity" sway to it. The rest of it is very nice, though, so I'm sure people looking more for off-road and the low price are going to love it. It handles "well ... for a truck", not "well ... for a sporty car".

So, back to the Lucid dealer. I need to get out of this Polestar before I end up exacerbating my aging joints. I found a 2026 vehicle with almost the exact config I originally order except for having the mid-size wheels instead of the Hankooks and put a deposit down. It's in Philly and I'm on the West Coast, so it may take a while to get to me. They'll probably know by Monday and I'll still have time to cancel my order (and ... look for something closer?) if it's going to be a while. They said the issue is that while the headquarters has a steady stream of trucks heading in every which direction to get cars to the destinations, individual dealers are at the mercy of whether or not a truck is driving by that area with the intent of going to the intended destination. The car showed up in the "Available in 2 weeks" section, so I'm going to hold them to that.
 
Glad to have you back! My wife drives a Polestar 3 and you are 100% spot on on everything - including the "portal" they call a door opening!

I drive a Gravity and you'll be glad you came back - it's a wonderful car, software glitches are being ironed out just like Polestar did a year ago.
