The Mach-E had quite a few problems with PAAK early in the implementation. Eventually they got it working much better. At the time I remember hearing of a few other models that had issues with PAAK too, but I don't remember exactly which ones now. It's been a few years.

Today we ran around town with about 5 stops. Every single time the fob was slow to respond (had to fiddle with it for 10-15 seconds standing at the driver door before it would finally open). I ended up resorting to unocking the doors with the phone app a few times. Which works fast to unlock, but.... that doesn't seem to load my driver profile. The seats were all screwed up, no Android Auto, etc. I assume there's just a setting not set right to get the car load the right driver profile when unlocking with the phone instead of the fob? I sure hope so, because that was really annoying. My fob just seems to be getting worse. I put in a new (recommended) battery yesterday but I'll pull it and try again, and check again to see if there a fob software update.

As a total aside... One of the dark horse cars I am thinking about is the Macan EV. I just saw in your signature that you have a Macan EV. I am curious how you compare that to the Gravity. If I went Macan, I would get their top-level Burmester audio system. Here are my thoughts, but I am curious about your reality.

• Macan driving dynamics were amazing - throttle, braking, and steering precision were second to none. The Gravity was very good, but it felt casual and floaty by the Macan's standard.
• Macan's lack of OPD could be a deal breaker.
• Ditto Macan's lack of hands-free ADAS (though, it is still TBA for the Gravity).
• Macan's UI seemed dated and a generation behind.
• How is the Macan's mobile app compared to the Gravity?
• If you have the top Burmester in the Macan, how do you think it compares to the Surreal Sound Pro in the Gravity?
• Any other Macan EV hitches or glitches you have encountered or heard about?

Porsche just announced the release of PaaK last week, which is one of the little nudges that put it on my dark horse list.

It IS supposedly possible to buy a new/second or third fob from the SC. I thought about doing this just to see if there would be a difference…but I have to bring my car in to SC for it to be paired with new fob and the current wait time is 60+ days for an appointment. Unless one’s car is totally undriveable.

Which raises a whole different issue for the Cosmos. The SCs are already wildly overwhelmed and can’t service the existing Lucids. How on earth could they service the mid-size Lucids?

Teslas SCs are terrible, but they got that way AFTER the 3 came out.

I may not be a ton of help because we don't have/use a few of those things. We have the Bose Surround Sound System, and it's just fine for our tastes. But we're not audiophiles like some. We mostly listen to SXM, and think it's fine. I know that's practically a sin to audiophiles tho.

We don't use any hands-free ADAS. Only ACC. I'm not a fan of it in any car. I prefer to do my own steering. Ours has LCA but I don't use it.

The driving feel is great in the Macan EV. Smooth and precise. Air suspension is very good (although it does jump a little in the Normal setting when hitting bumps on a curve at speed). Overall smoother than the Gravity. It's a much easier car to drive. Visibility is way better, seats are good (wish we could have gotten the massage in it but the closest car we could find in inventory didn't have it). Steering is great. Very precise, and the wheel is a bit easier to turn than the Gravity. I like the accelerator pedal feel WAY better than the Gravity. Feels like a normal car, taking easy pressure. Unlike the Gravity than has a heavy pedal (at least while regen is on, which is weird and maddening). Regen is light (wish it were stronger). No 1PD but I don't use it anyway.

Seeing the driver display through the steering wheel is not great if you have the wheel low like I prefer. But the HUD is fantastic. We have yet to get an OTA software update in the year we've had it, and I'm not sure we ever will. Software is not as much of a mess as the Gravity but it's got issues too. App is middling, about like the Lucid app. Fob is dead solid perfect, as is the walkaway lock. And it has a proper lock chirp. Not nearly the storage space of the Gravity, of course. It's not bad, but just average. Build quality is excellent.

Overall I just find it way easier to drive than the Gravity, which has significant annoyances and compromises for my tastes.

Thanks a ton. This is super helpful, and I appreciate that you took the time to answer. It pretty much echos my test drive experience, about 30 minutes after my Gravity test drive. I want to drive them both again.

Lucid should do an “Owners on the road” series because I really do think it goes unnoticed how good the Gravity is for road tripping and how quick you can stop and move on from charging stops etc.

I definitely notice I get in and then out of the DCFC centers more quickly than other vehicles. You start a conversation with a curious dude there and when you go to leave they're like "what?!!...you're already done? My car's still at 50%"

I liked the Macan a lot, but the 2 deal breakers for me were the limited interior space (not a good family car) and the lack of one pedal driving, as you mentioned.

I actually prefer the smaller car because my wife has the 3-row SUV for family hauling. My use case is a hatch design that is big enough to store my bike without removing the wheels. I think the Macan is big enough for that. The Gravity is much bigger than I need, but it has many other plusses.

But gravity is more space and with 3 kids (soon) cayenne is too small unfortunately.

If space (both cabin and cargo) is a top consideration, then the Gravity is the best option for you. It's the same size of the Cayenne, but it feels a lot bigger inside. Plus the doors open 90 degrees, a big deal when hauling kids, car seats, etc

Yeah that is true. The only unfortunate thing is that my audi dropped 70k € in value in 4 years... paid 98k € cash and now got offered 27k €....so not easy to consider getting rid off it and buying the even more expensive lucid fpr 140k €

Finally got an update from Lucid HQ about the issue of vehicle firmware update starting without any intervention from me (it happened again with 3.4.1). After reviewing mobile app logs, they think it is a vehicle hardware issue. They aren't sure exactly what (or at least didn't say), but asked that the vehicle be brought into the studio for service. This doesn't seem to be affecting many vehicles, so I appreciate Lucid continuing to look into it. Will keep you all posted....

Lucid finally fixed this!!! For the first time since I took delivery back in September, 2025, the vehicle waited for my approval to install a software update. Every other software update before 3.5.7 installed itself automatically, as soon as it was available to the vehicle. This was a giant PITA because it resulted in the vehicle bricking itself for ~60 minutes at inconvenient times. That no longer happens. With 3.5.7, I was able to install the update at my leisure. Thank you Lucid!!!!

Glad it's fixed. Such a strange bug to have happened to very few people.

Negative. I turned mine on in my car, not on my phone. Could access screens to end Creature Comfort so had to go to the app to turn it off.

Creature Comfort has prevented me from driving a dozen times. I found a reboot didn't clear it, but like you, I could turn it off from the app as a workaround.

HOWEVER - my local grocery store is a cellular dead-zone. It took me 4 attempts and was finally able to connect and turn it off. I submitted a bug to lucid, and asked if the app could use bluetooth (no cellular needed) as a fallback. If you can't connect over cellular in this situation, you're screwed

Have you tried just opening the driver’s door and then closing it without getting out of the car? It’s worked for me every time my Gravity was stuck in Creature Comfort mode with the screens unresponsive. Annoying, but its a simple workaround until the bug is fixed.

Had a fairly significant software glitch last night on 3.6.0 and I’m curious whether anyone else has experienced something similar.

I was leaving a public parking lot when another vehicle started backing toward me. I gave a brief precautionary honk to get the driver’s attention (which, if I’m not mistaken, should also trigger Halo recording).

Shortly after pulling onto the main road, several systems appeared to fail simultaneously:

• The right side of the Clearview Cockpit (where CarPlay normally displays) showed only the Lucid logo and froze.
• The entire Pilot Panel also switched to a Lucid logo screen and became unresponsive.
• Music from my phone suddenly started playing at a very high volume (kids started to dance on the 2nd row, so some fun in it for sure)
• Neither the steering wheel volume controls nor the Pilot Panel volume knob would adjust the volume.
• Ambient lighting on the doors appeared to be completely off.
• Auto headlights and front collision protection appeared disabled per Clearview Cockpit indicators
• The vehicle remained drivable, but the affected displays and controls were essentially frozen.

Fortunately, traffic was at a standstill (people leaving Brandenton Beach area after sunset), so I was able to safely shift into Park and perform a soft reboot (man, that felt weird doing this on public road ,but music was starting to deafen me). After the reboot completed, everything returned to normal.

What struck me was how many systems seemed to be affected at the same time: CarPlay/display rendering, the Pilot Panel, audio controls, and ambient lighting. That makes me wonder whether a common software service crashed rather than this being an isolated CarPlay issue.

I’ve already reported it to Lucid's swfeedback email (no automatic answer this time though) and provided approximate timestamps and my VIN so they can pull logs if available.

Has anyone else seen anything similar on 3.6.0?
