BTW, one thing I think may be driving a lot of my issues: I think the car has problems recognizing where I am, whether I'm in or out of the car or some kind of assumed state is wrong. I think it could be at the root of many of my problems. Reasons I speculate thus:

- sometimes, although the car is locked and the handles aren't presented, I can see the bear screens inside the car, starting up the infotainment system. So part of the car knows I am close, just not necessarily the doors.
- this could explain the erratic seat behaviors. If it doesn't know whether I've just gotten in or just gotten out, it may be moving the seat back to let me out when in fact I've just gotten in.
- maybe that's also why it won't lock when I walk away - it may think I'm still in the vehicle?

Some DC charging will not hurt your battery at all and in fact may be good for it. A lot of DC fast charging may degrade your battery a bit. Charging to 100% or storing you car in very hot temperatures will likely have a lot more impact on your battery life than DC fast charging.

Such a welcoming site. TBH - I've had so many unresolved bugs and issues I've stopped posting them. Thought I'd at least get some advice from posters on this particular thread whom I know have a lot of experience. Fear not, my participation on this forum is complete.

- Fob works correctly to unlock the vehicle on approach about 25% of the time. 75% of the time I have to wait. These days at least it does eventually open with the fob (ie no card tap or app unlock required about 98% of the time) but only after I walk around near the vehicle for 5-20 seconds, pushing the unlock button, or walking closer to the rear driver side door, where it seems to have better recognition of the key.

Same here. It's actually worse than before that first big update that was suppose to fix it. The doors usually presented last second when getting to the door before. Now, most of the time I'm standing there for 5-10 sends before it kicks in.

2 differences now. I'm not keeping the fob in my pocket anymore. I hang it on the wall inside the house so I'm not constantly locking/unlocking the car when just walking around the garage. I wonder if that's putting the fob to sleep (motion detection) whereas before it was already awake from me just walking to the garage?

I also tried putting in one of the recommended batteries someone posted about here (supposedly higher power). Made no difference.

PAAK can't come soon enough.

My fob went from 50% reliable to almost 100% reliable after one update; IIRC it was the 3.4 update. Then, with 3.5, it went back down, and almost seems worse since my service visit (I've only had the car back a few days now) and so I would say it's worse than it's ever been - at least before I didn't have the staying unlocked issue very often, whereas now it's a coin flip.

I've had dozens of new batteries, and service just replaced mine a week ago.

I'm not convinced PAAK will be any better. I don't think the problem is the fob, per se, so much as some kind of bug in the software, possibly somewhere else in the system. But I don't really know anything, so this is sheer speculation on my part.

When I had the loaner gravity it would occasionally throw an error that the fob wasn’t recognized, but it was while I was driving or already in the car

This worked for a couple of days and then stopped working. I’ve done it a couple of times and it always seems to revert back to double open state.

Make sure they don't rotate easily, putting them back to previous position. Keep adjusting every few days until you get it right. More of an art than a science.

Regarding lock beep, if the frunk or trunk have not completed their closure and lock process and you walk away from the car, the car beeps, telling you it's locking itself but there is an open frunk or trunk. It all works, just letting you know it locked before it was totally closed and secure.

PAAK often has issues in other cars, so could be. Typically uses bluetooth which on some phones is notoriously flaky. But it's often a phone issue rather than a car issue.

I tested locking/unlocking from the app a few times the last few days. Shockingly, it was almost immediate response (<1 second). I know that's a different methodology than PAAK will use, but still, I take that as a promising sign.

Depends on the make/model. Some are fine, others not as much.

Comments in forums suggest some variance by cell phone model too.

I always wanted to have a backup to PAAK, because sometimes the phone itself would be dead, or locked up. Fortunately we'll have both fob and cardkey backup in the Gravity.

I think on iPhones you can still use NFC tapping when the battery is "dead". I've gotten a message to that effect before and was still able to use tapping to unlock my HomeKit lock.

Hopefully they will also have PAAK for the Apple Watch.

Some cars use Bluetooth, like Tesla. Most use UWB. My father and I have been using PaaK on several different cars for many years, and neither of us has had a glitch. I am curious what cars or examples you have seen that are not reliable. In my personal experience, it has been perfect. (And no issues reported on those respective forums.)

Got a notice that my key fob battery getting low/needed replacing. For some time, it took MANY button pushes to lock/unlock. Seemed logical a low battery might be the cause and just replaced. Unfortunately, still takes a crazy number of pushes to lock/unlock. I can rent the most mundane car, and the fob just works...why is this so flaky on my Dream Edition? Also, sometimes unlocks as I approach, other times no, and it rarely seems to lock when I walk away from the car. Often have to use the app and lock remotely. Any known fixes? I have checked the key settings, and all looks correct. Maybe next update will bring up to snuff...hope so.

4) Front windows - go down when I want them to go up 80% of the time. Folks here said it was a seal issue but service couldn’t always reproduce it. I do think it’s a seal issue as it was almost non-existent in winter but happens daily now that weather is warmer.

I noticed the lightbar up front doesn’t light up like it used to when I approached. I think it was after the first fob update that this stopped.

The fob response is greatly increased, but the lack of response up front is strange as I felt like it gave me a good sense it knew I was approaching.

Did this go away for everyone or is it some bug for me? There are NO exterior lights that come one when I approach. Handles do present by the time I get to the door though, so I guess that’s a win.

It does feel like they got the CarPlay OTA out (which I love!!!) and then declared victory as it’s been 62 days since last OTA (per lucid tracker app, thanks @HC_79!) when the prior average was 23 days.

I understand OTA cadence will slow over time, but, to me, there are still bugs and promises outstanding (PaaK, hands free, video/streaming, etc)…I guess maybe there’ll will be a big update at end of June…

After a couple of days of flawless unlocking/locking behavior, the gremlins returned two days ago. If the car responds to the fob, it does so only after a long delay (10-20 seconds). I have removed and reinserted the battery and finally today replaced it. But the problems continue, often requiring the use of the key card, which puts the car into the guest profile and requires punching in the PIN. We stopped at a busy roadside stand today to pick up some produce, and when we got back into the car (after the delayed response), the car wouldn’t go back into gear. I again removed the battery and reinstalled it, but the gears remained locked out. I had to reboot the car to get underway. The car is an amazing road tripper, best I’ve ever owned. But it turns into a nightmare for local running around.

Agree 100%. Road tripping is amazing - as my 17,000+ miles show. But the quick errand followed by weird behavior is frustrating.

Lucid should do an “Owners on the road” series because I really do think it goes unnoticed how good the Gravity is for road tripping and how quick you can stop and move on from charging stops etc.

The Mach-E had quite a few problems with PAAK early in the implementation. Eventually they got it working much better. At the time I remember hearing of a few other models that had issues with PAAK too, but I don't remember exactly which ones now. It's been a few years.

Today we ran around town with about 5 stops. Every single time the fob was slow to respond (had to fiddle with it for 10-15 seconds standing at the driver door before it would finally open). I ended up resorting to unocking the doors with the phone app a few times. Which works fast to unlock, but.... that doesn't seem to load my driver profile. The seats were all screwed up, no Android Auto, etc. I assume there's just a setting not set right to get the car load the right driver profile when unlocking with the phone instead of the fob? I sure hope so, because that was really annoying. My fob just seems to be getting worse. I put in a new (recommended) battery yesterday but I'll pull it and try again, and check again to see if there a fob software update.
