Gravity Bugs / Issues

Fwiw, I know you hate me saying this, but this definitely does not happen with our Air/Gravity if we're both on the road. I have absolutely no idea. Maybe it really is your Lucid account and you should ask CC to just make you a new one and reassign the vehicles. I'm out of ideas, lol

My understanding is the matter is now in the hands of an engineering team, and I'll just have to wait to see if they can figure out what's going on. Interestingly, no one at Lucid has yet suggested setting up a new account. Since it was not I but Lucid that attached the new cars to my existing Air account, I assume this is something only they can do?

Ah, got it. We have two now and I forgot about profile loading at all. Even so, if you link it to one at least it will get it right half the time.

The fob in the green Gravity was linked to my partner's profile at delivery, and the black Gravity fob was linked to mine at that delivery. Maybe what I perceive as the random occurrence of this was actually a function of who was driving which car.

TBH, the list of what causes what behavior and which work around works for what is getting so long with these cars that it's kind of become a blur. It's bad enough trying to keep one Gravity functioning smoothly through this software morass, but managing two is a bit of a load, especially when one car responds differently to what works in the other car. Sometimes I have trouble even remembering which car incurred which problem.

No idea why, but late last night my car came back online in the app. It was on home WiFi. Still online this morning and working when morning WiFi. The only thing I did was charge it - but it didn’t come online when it was charging. At some point after it was done charging it reconnected…it had been showing offline for about two days. Sounds like I am in much better shape than @bryway and others. Still curious.
Yeah. Mine reliably connects to my WiFi at home, but the minute I back out of my garage and drive away, I’m a ghost. All of my streaming services (TuneIn Radio, SiriusXM, etc.) work flawlessly even though the app shows “vehicle offline” status, so those must be using a different wireless method than the app-to-car service.

Correct. Also it’s a complete guess. I cannot fathom why that would change anything.

Have you tried temporarily connecting it to a different WiFi network (which could include your phone’s hotspot)? I haven’t seen Vehicle Offline again since doing that, even when it’s using the cell network.

So today hooked up to Tesla supercharger, and a host of error codes popped up, including turtle mode. Did all the reboots with customer care and a power cycle ended up clearing it all. Car then started charging rapidly (220+ kw). CC noted they were going to document.

I have lost the ability to launch music from any source. It is as if the audio subsystem has crashed. No amount of soft and hard reboots has fixed it. Selecting the music icon from either of the screens brings me back either to the home screen or the Nav screen. selecting any of my test and other profiles does not fix the audio big. Only with the guest profile I am able to stream (tidal/Spotify) or play the radio.

I wonder if it’s some sort of connected car server issue? All my SiriusXM favorites are gone today, it just says “unavailable”, but when I’m at home they were there. After I selected a channel and was out driving, they were gone. Usually they work great; I haven’t ran into this.

Returned to car tonight and no proximity unlock. Stood by car for a minute. Nothing happened. Took out fob, used unlock button and it worked. Got in and drove fine.

This has happened a couple times this week. Seems like car is in a deep sleep for some reason, sometimes. It worked fine this morning after 10 hours of sleep overnight. This evening I left it for 3.5 hours and had this behavior.

Not a huge deal as fob button worked and car started fine. Yet, it’s still odd that it’s happening.

Much better than it used to be, but I still get nervous each time I head to car and wait to see if lights will come on and proximity will work. Only thing I can think of is fob hadn’t moved enough in my pocket and it was asleep.

I am going to try making sure I shake fob a bit before I head to car to see if that eliminates issues.

Super weird. Haven't seen that one.

I have not. I now remember you mentioning that upthread, so thanks for the suggestion (and reminder)! Will give that a shot today and will report back 👍🏼

Similar experience for me yesterday. As is my routine, I pre-heated the car (able to do so since connected to home wifi) as I got dressed for the gym. Also per usual, I cut my departure from home pretty close to when I absolutely needed to depart for an on time arrival to meet my trainer.

Quickly headed to the car with the fob in my shorts, but proximity unlock didn’t happen. I could hear the A/C going, so I knew it had been awake for that, but just wouldn’t recognize me (the key) to unlock. I fished the fob out of my pocket and tapped and shook the thing like a madman. No avail. Decided not to troubleshoot on the spot at the risk of being late, but did try the unlock button on the fob, and the car unlocked! Once in the vehicle, I thought I was home free. Alas, no. When I put my foot on the brake pedal, I received the dreaded “Key fob not detected… try shaking…” message. I shook the fob and tried again. Nada. Message persisted. Shook it several more times whilst shouting “FÜÇĶ, I’m sick of this shit!” at the top of my lungs — before remembering I’d tucked the key card in my iPhone wallet for such situations. Key card worked, and I was on my way.

Glad you had the key card! Not sure what’s the lagging issue with some fobs. Seems like 3.3.5 and fob update really helped 90%+ of folks. It helped me too, but still have some issues.

Also, I wish they’d just remove the “shake fob” guidance - that has never worked for me and makes me want to put the fob in a gosh darn rock tumbler to shake it!!

My phone, watch and little cheap devices have, what seems to be, a far more sensitive accelerometer or whatever the fob uses to wake up. I would prefer to change my battery weekly and have the fob always awake. Seriously.

When it works, it’s awesome. But when it fails, even 1-3 times a week, it’s brutal.

And…I just got “key not detected” as I sat in my car and wrote this waiting for my child. Had to use key card. I don’t understand the randomness.

Exactly! It’s the “not knowing” that exacerbates each situation. Reminds me of an old Eddie Izzard comedy sketch “Cake or Death”

Fob battery getting weak maybe?

Fob battery getting weak maybe?
Well, it’s showing full voltage. And it’s working sometimes - but I guess that could be a sign of weakening battery. 🪫 Will check again.
