Gravity Bugs / Issues

Drat. You gave me a moment of hope there.

I have long since gotten used to how quickly our Air Dream P builds speed in passing maneuvers on the rural roads in our area. But I'm still working on it in the Gravity Dreams. Their combination of higher ride height, quieter motors, and a more isolated cabin masks acceleration even more than the Air, and I have scared myself a few times once my focus moves to the speed display in the HUD.

I wonder how many septuagenarians have been arrested so far under Florida's new 100-mph law?
I keep catching my self exceeding prudent and reasonable speeds. There is even less feedback than my MS’s

My A/C was a little possessed today. Had to turn it way up in the morning since it was a pretty cold day. For some reason, it made an ungodly whistling noise that I'd never heard it make before. Some kind of very loud wind noise from the ducting. I got it to stop by switching to windshield defrost (changed the sound but didn't make it go away entirely) and then toggling fan speed down and up a bit. After 10-15 seconds it finally stopped. Then 15 minutes later, I couldn't get the car to stop blowing hard (and btw I've noted this before but at higher fan speeds, for a car that is otherwise eerily quiet, the AC is loud AF). My daughter and I were laughing as we both tried turning our fans up and down, Max AC on and off, even both fans set to 0 but the car still blowing (up front, yes) like mad. It's always a little buggy, but today was the worst it's been. Also, I tried turning on seat heaters and steering wheel heater in the app, but they were definitively not on in the car.
So I’ve had that squealing noise before and it only happens with the heat and I can’t reproduce it consistently. Not sure what’s causing it, but happens rarely enough that it’s not even on my list of items I would like the SC to check out at some point. It is odd, though.

If you’re in “Sprint” mode, there’s simply no way you can drive lower than the speed limit. You’re doing yourself and the car a great disservice by trying to do so. It’s just so deliciously enticing and enjoyable to go…faster. Or so I’ve heard… 😏

We’ve always had to bring door close to car with a very lite touch to have soft close work. I just thought that was normal. Any real force and it just “slams” but that doesn’t seem to be an issue.

More annoying is no one can get into car by just pulling handle. They pull. Nothing happens. They keep kind of pulling in some way and it opens. I am afraid someone will yank the handle off one day. I’ve kind of figured it out, but my kids just get frustrated and, you can forget about it if it is someone who has never been in the car. I have to just tell them to keep pulling. It does feel absurd to have to explain to someone how to get in the car. Not as bad as the FWDs on our X, but annoying.

The reason for both soft close and the initial "soft" pull on the door handle is to lower the window enough to clear the weather stripping around the door. Tesla had t do this to stop tearing the seal. You watch the window come down maybe 1/4' when you initially open the door. Thats to clear the seal rom tearing.

That’s true for opening (the need to wait a sec), not for closing. It DOES go up when closed, but you can slam the door or have it soft close and the window will still be fine since it’s a bit lower whenever door is open. I know this as my kids continue to slam the doors on our X and Gravity…despite constant reminders that doing so will result in them riding in the frunk on our next trip (which may in fact be encouraging the behavior as they’d think that would be fun…).

The first Pull is not for the window to go down - It's for the car to unlock. See the lock/unlock display to confirm. The second pull lowers the window and pops the door open.

Try this out:
  • Sit in the drivers seat and look and see if the door is locked on the left panel.
  • If door is locked, pull the door handle and notice the door is unlocked (on the display), but not popped open. Pull again and the door pops out.
  • If the door is already unlocked, you can lock it and try the above or just pull the handle to unlock.
This behavior is also dependent on the 'Unlock on Park' setting. If turned on, the car will unlock when parked and only one pull is required.
Understood.

I was talking about when she opens the door from outside the car, not inside.

I recall that @bryway had that issue.
Not sure if it has been resolved or not.
Still not resolved. App only shows “online” if parked in my garage connected to my home WiFi. Otherwise “offline” anywhere other than home. I have a service appointment scheduled for Weds 19 Nov. They’re going to have a look at this issue and (finally!) replace my middle row seats 👍🏼

I revert to Zen, I think, close to 100% of the time. I almost never use the app. And usually the strip of lights on the front dash don’t light up. Not sure if that’s intentional so as not to create a distraction when driving?

Also getting “sensor blocked” and “high beam assist unavailable” almost every time I use the car.
This happens pretty frequently with mine too — usually when driving at sunrise or sunset when the glare is strongest.

Are you on Android or iOS? Maybe delete your phone Lucid app, reinstall and log back in to Lucidmotors again?

iOS 26, which has been the same the whole time I’ve had the car.

I just tried logging out, deleting the app, and reinstalling as well as an infotainment reboot and none of those things were sufficient to get it out of the Offline state.
I could have saved you the trouble of trying all of that. I have had this issue for nearly a month, and have tried all the things (deleting and reinstalling the mobile app, logging out and back in again, etc.) to no avail. The situation briefly corrected itself after I installed the 3.3.5 update, but within a day reverted back to the offline status (unless parked at home connected to my WiFi). I now realize that single day of online clarity must have been a coincidence and not a result of installing the latest OTA update 🙄 Have a service appt in a week and a half, where they’ll troubleshoot this and other issues.

Have you tried connecting the car to your phone’s hotspot while away from home (and then disconnecting it again)? My car was getting stuck offline more and more often when away from home WiFi until it seemed permanently Offline, and this is how I un-stuck it per advice from customer service. It’s been over 24 hours so far without being offline anywhere I’ve gone.

Also I assume there is nothing actually special about phone hotspots and connecting it to any other new WiFi network should have the same effect.

Not yet, as we both drive both cars and still only have one fob for each.
Ah, got it. We have two now and I forgot about profile loading at all. Even so, if you link it to one at least it will get it right half the time.

So a new bug then?
Old bug, you're just seeing it for the first time. For me, it defaults to something else random, usually 'Bluetooth'. So I suspect if you hadn't set up Sirius it would still be defaulting to something the same way.

Also, tbh, I haven't driven the Gravity in over a week because @TribbleTrouble keeps hogging it so this is all from memory :P

This wouldn't explain it happening when listening to a USB stick plugged into the console. Also, it's about a 20-mile drive each way through a dense urban area. There are a few drop-out areas in the coverage, but not along the whole route.
Fwiw, I know you hate me saying this, but this definitely does not happen with our Air/Gravity if we're both on the road. I have absolutely no idea. Maybe it really is your Lucid account and you should ask CC to just make you a new one and reassign the vehicles. I'm out of ideas, lol

The service manager looked at it. Well as usual, the vehicle was online and the audio controls were present and the display was ok.
A theory: did it connect to the service center's wifi? It's usually stored if you've been at the service center before, so I wonder if that was what did it?

Now will that six year old always remember to pull, release, pull again? I doubt it because she's opening other car door in the traditional manner.
Sure, but 'pull on it a bunch' also works fine, and in an emergency if pulling on it once doesn't work, any reasonable human would try pulling on it again... which is the right maneuver.

So no, I agree most people won't remember it, including a six year old. But I would venture a guess that most people would pull (at least) twice in an emergency anyway.

I didn't check, but when I picked up my car the previous week, the delivery specialist couldn't connect to the WiFi network. We moved the Gravity from inside to outside, because he said the signal was not good inside (hard to believe). He had a hard time even outside. I don't remember if he got it working, but my profile eventually synced, so probably it connected at some point.

So good point about the WiFi connection kickstarting it, although I have WiFi at home and the Disconnected time was at the time I was at home.

So everything is OK now, but disconcerting since it happened the I was in a hurry to leave. I guess.the stories about people having to take another car when they are in a hurry happened to me.

No idea why, but late last night my car came back online in the app. It was on home WiFi. Still online this morning and working when morning WiFi. The only thing I did was charge it - but it didn’t come online when it was charging. At some point after it was done charging it reconnected…it had been showing offline for about two days. Sounds like I am in much better shape than @bryway and others. Still curious.

I don’t think it was Lucid server as my car has never one time had vehicle offline in the app whether at home or anywhere else, WiFI or not. 🤷‍♂️
