We’ve always had to bring door close to car with a very lite touch to have soft close work. I just thought that was normal. Any real force and it just “slams” but that doesn’t seem to be an issue.

More annoying is no one can get into car by just pulling handle. They pull. Nothing happens. They keep kind of pulling in some way and it opens. I am afraid someone will yank the handle off one day. I’ve kind of figured it out, but my kids just get frustrated and, you can forget about it if it is someone who has never been in the car. I have to just tell them to keep pulling. It does feel absurd to have to explain to someone how to get in the car. Not as bad as the FWDs on our X, but annoying.

Man...Im feeling really good about skipping the Comfort and Convenience pkg on my order. This all seems ridiculously over complicated to open and close a car door!
I wish I could have the option to just order heated wiper blades as the rest didn't seem like anything I really needed. YMMV

I couldn’t care less about the soft close. It does work but it’s not really a featured to me. I got C&C for the glass and seats.

Well, I got the “vehicle offline” in the app today. Never happened before, but I guess it is a wider bug. Not the worst, but strange considering my car is in my driveway. Maybe it’s the whole WiFi weirdness that happens with Halo…

I wonder if its a server issue today? I tried to pre condition my Air in my garage from the app inside my house and it wouldn't wake up or do anything.

Well, what’s really odd is I DID precondition it on my first drive this morning. Then got home and parked and checked on it and it’s offline.

It’s funny but I got that yesterday. Long story with several, probably unrelated errors.

It all started in the morning with the fob not working (first ever). I was in a hurry, so I popped the battery out and back in. Doors unlocked, but seat was reclined. The restore button for seats had a spinning indicator. Had to move the seat via the seat controls and then restore worked. During my 2 hour drive my phone connection to Waze would blast announcements at super high volume. I couldn’t find the audio setting in the menu. Also my car image on the main menu was missing and I couldn’t switch out of smooth mode. I did several steering wheel reboots (long kind) at a rest area with no improvement. I dropped the car off at the window tint shop.

I won’t belabor you with the rest of the problems, but while waiting for my tint to be completed, I noticed it said vehicle was offline for 4 hours, which was the time I left home.

Later when it was time to leave. I did a steering wheel reboot, but car was still offline. The key fob was working fine all this time.

I decide to just go over to Lucid service which was 10 minutes away. The service manager looked at it. Well as usual, the vehicle was online and the audio controls were present and the display was ok. Very embarrassing for me.

When I went to leave, the Rear Steering needs service warning came up. I left the door open to preserve the warning and went back in the and was hoping they would take a quick look, but all they could offer me was to schedule an appointment to have it checked. I declined.

I left to drive 2 hours back home with no problems, including no Rear Steering warning.

How all these errors relate to vehicle offline, I’ll let you decide.

Yes it’s on WiFi, but LTE is available. The car should be not be listed as "Offline". It is not off-line now at home and it never has been. But LTE must’ve been working because I was using it to stream SiriusXM. Also, after leaving the service center it continued to remain online.

“Offline” refers to Lucid servers and app, I think. Clearly, to your point, you can stream, etc. But Lucid (and therefore the app) can’t “see” it for whatever reason. Could just be an app issue. Who knows…

As someone who had their proximity not work again last night, “offline” is the least of my concerns.

It's much trickier to get the soft-close to activate on our Gravities than on our Air. However, there has been a lot of variability of the "sensitivity" of the soft-close over the 4-year life of our Air.

The bottom line is that I don't even see the point of the soft-close on the Gravity at this point, as you have to devote more attention to getting it to engage than it takes to just be sure you close the door properly.

The soft close is one of the features I'd cross off if I could. Questionable utility combined with unnecessary complexity and a much higher chance of needing a service visit to fix a door mechanism. It strikes me as a bad idea that came out of some marketing meeting where they were spitballing ideas for how to make a vehicle more luxurious. I know the idea doesn't originate with Lucid, but I wish they hadn't copied it.

My car is on WiFi at home and still offline…I think it’s some sort of Lucid server issue.

I had the same issue within the last day or so. Car was off-line in the garage on WiFi.

My A/C was a little possessed today. Had to turn it way up in the morning since it was a pretty cold day. For some reason, it made an ungodly whistling noise that I'd never heard it make before. Some kind of very loud wind noise from the ducting. I got it to stop by switching to windshield defrost (changed the sound but didn't make it go away entirely) and then toggling fan speed down and up a bit. After 10-15 seconds it finally stopped. Then 15 minutes later, I couldn't get the car to stop blowing hard (and btw I've noted this before but at higher fan speeds, for a car that is otherwise eerily quiet, the AC is loud AF). My daughter and I were laughing as we both tried turning our fans up and down, Max AC on and off, even both fans set to 0 but the car still blowing (up front, yes) like mad. It's always a little buggy, but today was the worst it's been. Also, I tried turning on seat heaters and steering wheel heater in the app, but they were definitively not on in the car.

1. Closing door; you don't have to slam it, but it does require some effort; perhaps good for kids as long as their fingers don't get pinched
2. Opening door; you don't just pull the door handle, you pull the handle to allow the window to recess from the door seal (part of the quiet ride we expect)
3. Hands on steering wheel to drive; not a stationary position that you have to adjust to, you adjust it to meet your needs
4. Sit in seat to drive; same as steering wheel

Automations #1 & #2 cannot be turned off, while #3 & #4 can.
With feature #2, I know what the door is attempting to do. I explained it to my six year old granddaughter and she knows what to do now. She likes seeing the handles pop out.

We want automations, but we also want the choice to turned them on/off. Understandable. Our control.

Perhaps we have a similar mindset with ADAS. Some features are designed to save lives, but the effectiveness will be limited because we can choose to disable them.

Our message to our car: "I know you're trying to save my life and help me, but you're inconveniencing me because I'm not used to it".

this sounds like a broken blend door actuator, which is an electric motor that moves a flap to redirect airflow to where you set it. Its a common issue in 20 year old cars, and apparently brand new Lucids.

I had a 1996 MBW M3 (E36) that had a slight window open to recess from the door seal - with a conventional door handle and an instant recess.

The first Pull is not for the window to go down - It's for the car to unlock. See the lock/unlock display to confirm. The second pull lowers the window and pops the door open.

Try this out:

• Sit in the drivers seat and look and see if the door is locked on the left panel.
• If door is locked, pull the door handle and notice the door is unlocked (on the display), but not popped open. Pull again and the door pops out.
• If the door is already unlocked, you can lock it and try the above or just pull the handle to unlock.

This behavior is also dependent on the 'Unlock on Park' setting. If turned on, the car will unlock when parked and only one pull is required.
