Gravity Bugs / Issues

OH COME ON:

Things like this make me think some exec believed they could save money by firing the software team and vibe-coding everything. I don't know how a human could make this happen.
QC is definitely not Lucid's strong point at the moment. ☹️

Could it be you both passed through a low LTE service area?

So when I bought my second Tesla in 2023, they were both on the old Tesla software and it was a shitshow trying to get my mobile key to associate to the correct Tesla, or it would load the wrong profile in the wrong car, unlock the wrong Tesla, etc, etc. When they did their big UX update it fixed most of the problems, except to this day it still will not sync audio progress from one Tesla to another if you use the profile in two different cars.

This wouldn't explain it happening when listening to a USB stick plugged into the console. Also, it's about a 20-mile drive each way through a dense urban area. There are a few drop-out areas in the coverage, but not along the whole route.

Sounds like normal operation to me, similar to how Air soft close works, just gently push it till the latch catches. Medium to hard pushes make it past the soft close catch. By harder to open doors do you mean you have to pull harder on the handle for some doors than others to get it to release? I wouldn’t send it for service again, just give them a mile long list for your 10k mile service and ask for a loaner.

It's much trickier to get the soft-close to activate on our Gravities than on our Air. However, there has been a lot of variability of the "sensitivity" of the soft-close over the 4-year life of our Air.

The bottom line is that I don't even see the point of the soft-close on the Gravity at this point, as you have to devote more attention to getting it to engage than it takes to just be sure you close the door properly.

Another software error. While driving through a construction zone on Rt. 429 around Orlando the posted speed limit dropped from 70 to 60mph. I can understand the navigation not being aware of every construction zone, but I’m pretty sure there’s no 80mph posted speed limit anywhere in the state of Florida.

Heres a good PSA. If the door is locked and you want to open the door from the inside, simply pull the unlock handles twice and it’ll open the doors. Albeit, the alarm will go off but at least you’re not trapped.

Didn’t know this until I searched it in the manual. Wife and I originally thought it was a bug and that we couldn’t get out of the car from the inside if it’s locked.

You also have to pull twice "normally", if you don't have unlock set at park. The first pull unlocks the car (can be seen by the lock/unlock icon). The second pull opens the door

This happens in many cars, never trust the screen speed limit. My Volvo, as well as rental Audi and Cadillac have all made similar errors occasionally.

It’s gotta be related to all cars ownership being registered to Lucidmotors.com under a single account and that account having something wrong with it. There are zero other common denominators between them as far as I can imagine? I know there are other multi-Lucid households that do not have this problem but there’s gotta be something wrong with your account where it’s like it’s trying to authorize the codec for the Dolby Atmos license or something and getting confused by the vehicles, causing the audio to cut out repeatedly (even if you’re not playing Atmos the DSP in the car needs to authorize Atmos to be ready to decode any files), or maybe there’s some other cloud based verification that’s sending a bad command.

That appears to be just a very common misread of the sign by the car. Many vehicles that read the speed limit signs get that on occasion.

I’m having an issue getting the soft close to engage. If I swing the door closed with moderate or more force it just closes normally. It’s like it pushes past the soft close. Soft close only catches if I push the door very gently. Also, some of the doors are harder to open than others. I’ve been debating calling service because I just got the car back after a few days in for an FDU replacement and don’t want to give it up again.
Generally agree with your comments on soft close. It definitely requires more conscious effort to officially soft close than just close the door like any normal vehicle.

Also definitely agree with the door opening being a bit precious and finicky. At best, it takes getting used to waiting a beat for the electronic latch to engage. So instead of one solid pull like on a normal door you have to pull, wait, pull again.

The two things above just take getting used to. But more concerning:

It feels like the door opening electronic latch is inconsistent. A number of times I’ve made the initial handle pull and… nothing. So I have to try two or three times, sometimes stepping back for a minute and trying again. I hadn’t posted til now wondering if it isn’t user error of some sort, like maybe I need to pull on the direct center of the handle or something? I also haven’t been able to correlate it more to one door or another. But it has definitely happened a number of times. Nothing tragic yet, but odd.

We drove one of our Gravities to pick up the other Gravity today from a 2-week stint in the PPF shop. In the two weeks it was in the shop, we had no problems with music pausing repeatedly in the other Gravity or our Air. But on the way home with both Gravities on the road, the problem returned.

It appears that if any two of our Lucids -- Air or Gravity -- are on the road at the same time, the music will pause repeatedly in both cars. And neither of the cars are using the same music source when it happens. Usually one car is streaming Spotify while the other is streaming Tidal. But it has also happened when one car (the Air) was streaming Spotify and the other (a Gravity ) was sourcing music from a USB stick plugged into its USB-C port in the front console. (And the problem continued when I switched from USB to Tidal.)

So basically, it appears that we cannot listen to music from any source in either car when two of our Lucids are on the road at the same time.

I know some posters here have a Gravity and an Air and at least one (@Ron_Burgundy ?) has two Gravities (although one may still be pending delivery). Has anyone heard of anyone else with this problem?
Our second Gravity is still pending delivery, so can’t be super helpful until we get it. Very interested to see how our audio works though given your experience.

We’ve always had to bring door close to car with a very lite touch to have soft close work. I just thought that was normal. Any real force and it just “slams” but that doesn’t seem to be an issue.

More annoying is no one can get into car by just pulling handle. They pull. Nothing happens. They keep kind of pulling in some way and it opens. I am afraid someone will yank the handle off one day. I’ve kind of figured it out, but my kids just get frustrated and, you can forget about it if it is someone who has never been in the car. I have to just tell them to keep pulling. It does feel absurd to have to explain to someone how to get in the car. Not as bad as the FWDs on our X, but annoying.

Interesting, I did not know the car was reading the speed limit sign. I figured this was a map related feature. Good to know. Thx.

Yep. It will read signs in construction areas that are changed. Some of it is premapped but it updates as it sees the signs.

Really? I thought it was all pre mapped as it hasn’t updated any construction or other temporary areas for me. Hmmm. I will have to pay closer attention.

I've been told this issue has been referred to an engineering team at Lucid for investigation. I'll post whatever I hear further.

I've seen it do this several times as they are constantly tearing up the roads around us. This isn't new tech. My 2015 Dodge Charger did it too, as did my 2020 Taycan. They use a combination of premapped speed limits with the cameras looking for and seeing the speed limit signs.

. . . I’m pretty sure there’s no 80mph posted speed limit anywhere in the state of Florida.

Drat. You gave me a moment of hope there.

I have long since gotten used to how quickly our Air Dream P builds speed in passing maneuvers on the rural roads in our area. But I'm still working on it in the Gravity Dreams. Their combination of higher ride height, quieter motors, and a more isolated cabin masks acceleration even more than the Air, and I have scared myself a few times once my focus moves to the speed display in the HUD.

I wonder how many septuagenarians have been arrested so far under Florida's new 100-mph law?

New bug:

The group of suggested playlists on spotify changing to new ones every second or two. Clipped the video to 4 second because of size but it does this continuously every few seconds.

Does this happen if you switch profiles? I chalk things like this up to the dreaded "profile corruption".
