Gravity Bugs / Issues

Hey guys i'm thinking about starting a petition or a change.org to ask for Lucid to prioritize the Phone as key thing before anything else for Gravity, from what i've seeing this is the #1 problem that almost everyone had at least once (fobs or cards)... something like this... (text is just a first pass)

Want to know what you guys think, and ideas of where should i post it to get more owners joining:

Summary

We, the undersigned Lucid Gravity owners, reservation holders, and prospective customers, request that Phone-as-Key to be prioritized as a P0 (top-priority) feature and released before additional non-critical UX enhancements. Daily access is the core of ownership; carrying a fob/keycard undermines convenience, accessibility, and parity with the market.

Our Request

  1. Commit publicly to delivering Phone-as-Key v1 on Gravity as the next priority software item.
  2. Offer an opt-in beta/early access for interested owners.
  3. Share a clear ETA and status updates.
Why This Matters
  • Daily usability: Hands full, kids, groceries, gym, winter gloves—owners need effortless entry and drive-off.
  • Accessibility & safety: Reduces lockout risk and improves walk-away security.
  • Competitive parity: Modern EVs ship with reliable phone-as-key; Gravity should meet or exceed that baseline.
  • Support load: Fewer access/friction tickets and roadside calls.
Minimum Viable v1 Scope
  • Background BLE proximity unlock/lock and drive-enable when an authorized phone is present.
  • Walk-away lock that reliably engages (target ≥95% reliability).
  • iOS and Android parity for v1 (feature availability and reliability).
  • Offline first: Works without cellular/Wi-Fi once keys are provisioned.
  • Security: Key material stored in secure enclaves/keystores; revocation via app/account.

Yes, that IS what it sounds like for me.

So do I just remove the seat belts? Easy fix!
here's the rules for car noise:

reverberation: insulate with dynamat, closed cell foam

rattle: find the two surfaces and separate with foam tape OR join the two surfaces with foam tape/tessa tape (if one surface is stable the other is not, join them. For example the lower steering wheel shroud that rattles)

squeak: brush thick silicone grease in the affected area

creaks: anti creak tape/ rubber conditioner (dupont is my favorite) and/or clean the surfaces and apply silicone grease

Is your key fob updated? We just had ours updated today.

The Roswell Service Center told me they did it as part of the 3.3.2 download.

I’d rather not have to brush anything on my 60 day old car, but I get it. Still sounds better than my X. I’d prefer this be the issue than those sliders in the second row (which could also be making noise)…

It’s annoying though because it’s not like they reinvented the seatbelt for the Gravity. I suspect it’s due to the fact the seats fold flat, so there’s a LOT of space under there for them to move around versus a typical seat.

Was that before or after they assured you the GPS was fine and returned the car to you “all fixed”… 😏

Sorry, couldn’t resist. Much respect for the way you’re managing through this.

Maybe trying hooking the seatbelt, even without a passenger?

Ohhhh. You better look for that Certificate of Authenticity in the mail then. Could be one of the knock offs…

true story: tesla brushes anti rattle grease on the magnetic thingies on the model 3 and Y, and on the brake pedal detent bolt too. Its factory, Lucid should buy some lol

I do this in my Model Y cuz the stupid buckle bangs against the B pillar
It’s the buckles in the backseat, not the actual belts. That’s why I might just do my best to immobilize them with foam (like one would use for cushions). Not sure. But, appears fixable versus the entire frame of my model X sounding like Captain Jack Sparrow should be standing lookout on top!

Let the jury rigging begin. When I bought my Gravity I was hoping it would create a lot of DIY work for me…not. 🤣

just silicone grease the metal joints on the bushing it should work!

Here is the source of the "blob/ghost" for my HUD. I had never tried pressing on it before the mobile tech came to work on my key fob. It almost feels like a screen protector that needs to come off. In any case, I'm traveling for 3 weeks so the newly opened San Diego Service Center will have plenty of time to work on the list of items to be addressed, including replacing the HUD (unless they can figure out how to fix it). By the way, I also have the intermittent entry/exit issue. It also seems that when it doesn't work, my 2 center screens take up to a minute before coming live. One more observation for anyone who has attempted to use the rear washer, keep the button pressed if you want to see any fluid come out. Duh.

I went to service center to update my fob when it was 3.3.1. The service center at the time said it was updated.

This morning, being on 3.3.2, I had the mobile tech check and he discovered it was never updated.. After the update, I have yet to experience “no key detected” outside of maybe once when I turn on the car.

Every outing in the Gravity is an adventure.

This evening we got in the car to go to dinner and encountered this:

We waited a full three minutes to see if the screens would come up, but nothing changed. So we finally did the X/mic/brake reboot. We put the car in reverse, and the "No Key Detected" warning popped up. But finally, after several minutes dicking around with the car, we finally got underway. (Those vertical lines in the glass cockpit are not a photographic artifact. They were there and brighter than appears in the photo.)

When we got back into the car after dinner, the driver seat (which was all the way back due to the entry/exit feature) would not move, neither by pressing the brake pedal nor with the seat controls. Finally, my partner (who was driving and had driven to dinner on his profile settings) decided to try the profile button. His profile button would not respond. So he tried mine, and everything moved to my settings. He then was able to get the seats and mirrors to move to his setting by finally getting the car to accept his profile. Again, several minutes spent trying to get the car to become drivable.

About half the time we get into this car, we end up in a hybrid game of twenty questions / whack-a-mole, trying to figure out what's out of whack this time and what to do about it. Sometimes it's a problem people have already reported (sometimes along with a workaround), and sometimes it's something new.

I swear, the UI software in this car is every bit as bad as UX 1.0 in the early Airs. Yes, the Gravity has more features, but that just means more to go wrong. I had hoped never to go through that again with a car.

As we're still getting the fob-not-detected warnings despite having 3.2.2 downloaded, I suspect the Roswell Service Center pulled the same stunt with us. We already have a mobile tech coming in a couple of days to check out the return of the GPS/navigation issues, so I'll ask him to finish the update.

Prepare yourself as you will most likely still experience it with the update, it’s just meaningless, happens less often, etc.

I continue to get the fob not detected messages, but they typically just go away and the vehicle functions anyway. This is after all of the software and key firmware updates as well.

A major annoyance so far is the key does not work sometimes, the car won't sense the key after sitting in it.
Wondering if anyone else is having this issue and wonder if my key battery needs replacing? Happened at least 3 times in the last couple of days

One time we just sat in the car for 10 minutes and it wouldn't switch on, then we went and got the key card and it worked, strangely the key worked again for the rest of the day but stopped again today morning
Yes. I has the same problem . The on line tech made me..
1. Get ot of the car
2. Lock the car with the FOB
3. Take out the battery from FOB
4. Put battery back in the Fob while simulataeouslt holding the lock button on the FOB. Then unlock the SUV. Get back
In the SUV. Then FOB was recognized by the SUV

The Green Machine Saga, Chapter 312:

After waiting several hours, I took the Gravity for a drive to see if anything else had gone wrong. When I powered the car up, the satellite maps were showing the car in its current location, so I thought the system might have reset. But as I turned out of our driveway, everything went haywire again. Suddenly the arrows showing the car's location on the upper and lower screens diverged. At one point driving down our street, the upper screen showed the car several hundred yards into the large lake on my left, while the lower screen showed the car heading for a cul-de-sac in a gated community several streets away to the right. Then the lower screen started spinning rapidly back and forth left to right as it had done earlier.

As I approached the end of our street almost two miles from our house, I put on the turn signal to turn right. When I did, the arrows on the upper and lower screens instantly fell into sync and snapped back to the actual location of the car, and for the rest of the drive the navigation system seemed to function normally.

But it's clearly not a system I can rely on for navigating unfamiliar territory, as whether or not it's going to work is a total crap shoot.

Or maybe just try to find reasons to turn right a lot . . . .
There's a story about when Airbus began building the A320, perhaps urban legend perhaps not. They were out on an early test flight and happened to flush the rear lav. Almost instantly both engines quit. Their solution was to put a sticker on the Lav and declaring it inoperative. Sounds like perhaps some of those early Airbus engineers came to work for Lucid.
