Gravity Bugs / Issues

Just got an update from the Service Center on our Gravity.

They are having to remove the entire dashboard to replace the HUD unit, which they described as "a big and time consuming job". They said that only after that and "the vehicle is programming" can they move on to diagnose the navigation and GPS issues. No mention of the front console / key fob issue.

And no assurance given that we'll have the car back in time for our September 9 road trip.

Meanwhile, I'm curious. Any word on OTA updates that start to whittle away at the more niggling software issues?

I’ve heard nothing on OTA but with 3.2.2 I feel like Lucid tipped their hand by updating the phone app first. Not sure if that’s typical though…

Every time I look at my HUD and see that white blob, I think of you. Once the San Diego SC opens, I will have it looked at. I'm hoping it's open by mid-October since I'll be gone for 3 weeks and it would be the perfect time to have it replaced if that's what they are going to do.

Follow up on iPhone bug.

Not only does Waze navigation get confused if my iPhone is wireless charging pad, I also get interference on my phone such that I can’t have phone calls while it’s there. I have to move it of the wireless pad area. I’ve tested both the navigation and phone calls while issue on three different iPhones with consistent behavior. Something is shielding signals or disturbing them in center console (for me)…

Anyone else having this issue?

Can't speak for navigation as I solely use Lucid nav but I've had a few calls with the phone wirelessly charging and haven't had any issues with interference.

Yeah they looked mediocre like that on Gravity test drive, the Airs are far superior, hopefully it’s just a software update that will take care of it.
My eyes kept trying and failing to bring the images into focus on my Gravity test drive. I'm really hoping for improvement by OTA. If it's baked into hardware, yikes.
But either way, I guess they're better than the nonexistent video in some other EVs.

Good news, I have my VIN so my Gravity is going to production. Bad news: this thread gives me pause as to whether or not I want to follow through with this purchase. At 65 pages long, it is difficult to digest the current state of things, but the vibes are not good. This will be our only car, and needs to be reliable. I have driven both the Air and Gravity and know they are amazing, but I am really concerned about the viability of Lucid in general, and the key fob access issues. So , for those of you who may be following this closer than me, I would love to hear your thoughts, guidance, and recommendations.
I’m in a similar situation- have a VIN with “In Production”on my dashboard. However, I also have lived the experience of an early (October 2022) Air GT, and accept that (a) I’m going to be faced with a slew of weird, glitchy, inconveniencies, and (b) anything serious is dealt with by Lucid promptly, courteously, and efficiently, and eventually are fully resolved. In the meantime, I have the privilege of driving the coolest car on the road, and that’s a tradeoff I make happily.

I’d be surprised if it’s not OTA fixable. The Airs are better and I’d be surprised if Lucid downgraded the camera hardware on a much newer vehicle.

The Airs were pretty shitty in the early days.

I missed the Air's earliest days, buying my GT a year after the first Dreams shipped, and right around when UX2.0 arrived.

Lucky you 😂

Those were some dark, dark, days 😛

That’s what I keep reminding myself of awaiting my Gravity. As long as the car is like the one I test drove I’ll be happy. HUD worked, drove beautifully, no seat rattle, could be driven with the keycard, only problem I saw was Tidal and Spotify weren’t searchable, sanctuary mode was glitchy turning it into irritating mode, and no CarPlay yet. But aside from those things it was much better sussed out that Air 1.0 was, so it will be ok and hopefully I don’t spend my first year of the Gravity in a Pure loaner too often. 🤣

You’ll be happy. I think I’ve used the keycard 2 or 3 times in over 2 months of ownership so hardly a dealbreaker. Sanctuary mode I couldn’t care less about, great to show off video on the screens but it’s a gimmick I don’t need. I haven’t had any issues searching TiDAL (don’t use Spotify) but I find it’s still easier to just search on your phone and add to your playlist that way.

Hopefully CarPlay and AA aren’t too far away for those that live and breathe for it. Not my thing so I’m happy with UX3.0 to date. Hopefully Lucid releases the promised features sooner rather than later though.

Yeah actually I don’t care about sanctuary mode, but my kid loved it in the showroom model and when I told her I was getting the car she asked if we could watch the ocean in the car when I got it. I’m looking forward to when they release hands free drive assist for the Gravity too as it’s fantastic on the Air and I use it a lot.

DreamDrive Pro 2 is probably one or 2 specific updates away from being hands free ready in my opinion. It will be interesting if it’s restricted to freeway only or where it’ll be allowed on city streets also. Currently, it works on all streets which is completely different than the Air version.

Two bugs - neither of which is a big deal.

1) Drive Mode - when I switch it using the custom button on the wheel, it’s switches on the dash but on the pilot screen, it doesn’t switch. Just odd. It does seem to actually be making the change in mode based on acceleration. Can’t tell re: suspension as my air suspension is “degraded” and stuck on standard.

2) Vibe lights (again) - the windshield “spine” light doesn’t come on at all any more, nor do the lights in center console or anywhere other than where your feet go. But won’t change colors. Just white. Have tried a couple of resets. Probably some software weirdness or my possessed center console.

I noticed the drive mode bug yesterday. Not a major deal, just a little annoying. I can definitely see my suspension adjusting using the toggle switch on the steering wheel though. Acceleration changes also work.

Only issue I’ve experienced with the lights is the theme doesn’t hold. Every time you get back into the car they go back to white. I would also prefer the light at the bottom of the windshield remain on while driving or at least have an option to turn it on or off in the settings. Not sure why Lucid decided it had to be off while the car is in drive.

What does it do on city streets today? Lane centering? Smart cruise control? Sign/light recognition? Pedestrian recognition/reaction?

I thought it was none of these.
