Yeah, always wondered why they can’t spend a few extra dollars for better cameras. Maybe it’s a processing thing. Maybe they will improve these in a model refresh.

yeah, my 2022 LR Disco's cameras just seem better all-around, day & night. plus, I like the split camera view, off-road mode, that can isolate to both sides of the car (parking lot lines) as well as a front view very clearly. Lucid's lack all that.

though in contrast JLR's ADAS continues to suck and be stuck in the last decade. ;)

But I’m going to get eaten alive when this happens to me + 6 smelly, tired, hungry kids after swim team practice at 8:30pm in a blizzard. My epitaph will be “But he really wanted to beta test a $120k EV."

So I had a remote technician visit a couple of weeks ago. The only action he took besides taking logs directly from the car via ethernet was to replace the battery in the fob which was at 2.9 volts. He strongly suggested I get a faraday pouch for the fob. I did so and any time I’m done driving the fob goes in the pouch. I have had remakably fewer issues since doing so.

When I use the manual button to increase temp it skips 72 and goes from 71 to 73 but then will do 74 75 76 etc and also counts by ones down from 71.

Where is my 72?! Both driver and passenger side
 
I never received a 2nd fob and I also never got a "due bill" for one. Does Lucid owe me a 2nd key fob?

I drive a DE and did get two key cards. The delivery process was weird and they clearly were already struggling with the key/access/profile issues. In retrospect I could've refused to take delivery.....alas the car is so damned beautiful! I just wished it operated as great as it looks!
 
The car is indeed great to drive. Hoping Lucid fixes these basic issues.Perhaps if they implement car key, that will solve for a lot of issues as well.
 
Well, another day, another round of all-new software gremlins since the 3.3.9 download.

Got in the Gravity to go to dinner and hit the toggle switch to raise the cabin temperature. It was skipping numbers: 72 to 73 to 75 to 77 to 78 to 80 -- but no 74, 76, or 79 setting available on either switch. (I could hit those numbers by going into the climate control menu, though.)

And the driver seat had lost its profile settings. When I went into the seating menu to try to restore or re-enter them, all I got was a gray screen except for the seat heater/cooling buttons.

However, at least the music was playing . . . until we got back in the car to drive home. The music selection was frozen on pause and would not play by hitting the touchpad on the squircle. So I hit the music button on the Pilot Screen so I could start the music from there, but the menu would not come up and the display remained set to the main screen. (I could go into other screens, but not to the music screen.)

There is something seriously unstable in the whole UI system. Right now I cannot think of a single function controlled by it that hasn't had some malfunction at one time or another since getting both the Gravities. And while these gremlins may change from one software update to another, almost every single day when the car powers up the roll of the software dice brings up some number we haven't seen yet.

Mostly out of exhaustion I'm coming to terms with the fact that this is going to be life with Lucid as long as I keep buying their new models. And it's why my brother has already decided not to wait for the Earth to debut and instead move on sooner to something else.

I hope the company survives this. Another YouTube video went up today that has over 4,300 views in which the reviewer, although generally liking the car, reported a string of software glitches during a fairly brief test drive. (Software behavior begins at 3:20)

If you look at the middle of the DRL trim in the picture, you can see it’s separating. The trim is actually held by double sided tape. I have a scheduled appointment to replace the entire trim.

Today, on the way to Vegas, I got a headlight fault and noticed the DRL and Lucid letters are off. Luckily it’s being replaced under warranty next week anyway.

For everyone else, check your trims and see if it’s separating.

I had my key fob go dead, after just a little over 2 weeks of ownership. I tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, no luck, second key fob worked fine, swapped battery, first key fob is fine, just dead battery. MUCH more concerning to me was that my key card which is supposed to be your reliable backup option, would not start the car. It DOES lock and unlock it, but no amount of tapping, sliding, setting it in place all over the center console charge/pad area would recognize the key in the vehicle. Thank god I was at home, and not in some remote location! From what I've read it sounds like the only times people have had key card not start the car it was due to a center console issue. I sure hope not, since my vehicle was built after they supposedly fixed the crimped wire thing, but I guess I better schedule service. Definitely don't like the idea of being stranded and unable to start the car.

...and yes, I tried a long reboot of the car, and walking away for a few minutes and coming back, and have subsequently tried both key cards, no go for driving.

Well, ideally, they’d have PaaK from day one and none of us would ever need a fob. I know some folks like having one, but I’d have no issue if they made you buy fobs as long as PaaK was working perfectly. It’s one thing Tesla does well.

I’m not calling in a drone strike, so the cameras are fine for me. Would I prefer higher quality? Definitely. But since it appears Lucid isn’t using cameras for ADAS, they can save money by not using high res cameras.

I liked the video. He mentions software and the low res cameras as negatives.

My Maserati does this. It skips 72 but only going up, going down it will do 72.
