Gravity 3.5.1

I received and installed 3.5.1 last night and used my phone to activate my Gravity with just the phone -- pretty much great and uneventful.
In order to activate Car Play I needed to delete my phone from the Gravity and then exit the connectivity screen, re-enter the connectivity screen and add my iPhone back into the Gravity and follow the prompts to add CarPlay which looks good and seems functional. It is not clear to me if there adjustments that are available for interaction with my Gravity. SO IF ANY OF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE SETUP OPTIONS -- I am very interested!
--Next I tried Apple Music which works but I would LOVE Lossless app for Apple Music
--Next I noticed that while I have many App's on my iPhone 15 and several do appear on the screen, I wondered how can I make some app's like Netflix appear as an option on the Gravity screen?
--I wonder if you can utilize Google maps and CarPlay as an iPhone owner on the Gravity and any insights into this.
Fun times!!!
If you have google maps on your iphone they should also appear on AP screen, try scrolling through screens ,it should be there

I believe you have to choose the iPhone apps on the iPhone in settings/carplay. Not all iPhone apps are CarPlay compatible, but you can enable/disable the ones that are to show on the car.

So far so good with the update. Nothing else seems to have broken yet. No other fixes though.

In terms of CarPlay, I was never a fan of it for cars like these that have a robust infotainment system already. The resolution for CarPlay is far too large and pixelated. For such a large screen, there’s no need to be running CarPlay at 480p or worse; way too much wasted screen real estate that can be used for other windows. I prefer the native Lucid infotainment system in this case. Also, it drives me nuts when the right corner of the top screen is not being used.

It is interesting though that since we have 2 screens that operate independently of each other. Having Google Maps on the top screen and the native Lucid maps on the bottom can have its benefits.

For BMW’s or older cars CarPlay makes sense. Because their systems are terrible.

Android Auto here! At first blush, looks good and responds as expected. Just a very short drive so, I'll have to assess in greater depth later. So far, I like what I see and have experienced
I awoke the am (after charging overnight) w/ notification of 'update available' so, I was giddy. Delayed installing for little bit until I was within eye shot of my GGT. Easy and seamless!

Funny enough, I got in to the GGT and got notification that AA was available and to approve it on my phone. No request to delete/reinstall my profile - worked beautifully after approving on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra). Perhaps a good idea to do that procedure anyway to remove any possible future conflict.

Yeah for whatever reason I had the equivalent experience with my iPhone 16 Pro where as soon as I got in the GDE post-3.5.1 install my phone prompted me if I wanted to enable CarPlay. Since I'm a wild risk taker, I just went ahead and did that vs forgetting and re-connecting my phone. So far it's worked great.

Google maps were always in apps subset that were showing for me on Apple Carplay screen, on every car I drove that had it, so unless user deletes google maps from the list of 'included aps' in Carplay settings on their iphone, they are included by default, just a matter of sort order, i.e on which screen they will appear

Awesome update. So far CarPlay is working seamlessly.

I spent more time than I ever have just updating my widgets (which I never used to use in CarPlay but which have clearly come a long way!).

I understand that Atmos support requires that manufacturers implement it in their CP/AA stacks. Hopefully the car is capable of this as I would far prefer CP to an Apple Music app. But of course I need to keep Tidal for the time being because Atmos just sounds that much better than stereo!

Lucid might not have implemented the be newer CarPlay Ultra (formerly CarPlay 2), but a few things that *have* improved include their adding turn-by-turn directions to the driver dashboard for navigation apps other than Apple Maps (it’s working for me on Google Maps currently).

I’ll wait to see if the default-to-Sirius startup bug, the HVAC bug or any other nuisances I’m forgetting about raise their ugly heada again. But for the time being, I feel like this vehicle has finally found its groove.

Love the update.
Still trying stuff.
The native nav app has always worked well for me, but tried Google Maps (GM) and it worked fine.
The absence of GM on the pilot screen makes it less likely I'll use it. Sometimes the view on the larger pilot screen is better than the smaller top right screen.

So far I notice when I use the Google Assistant (GA), GM displays on the top right screen even though I'm not trying to use GM.
Perhaps there is a way to just use the GA without GM displaying.
Not a big deal other than having to tap the AA icon to turn off the GM display.

Love the remote start feature.
The 2 minute timer on the phone app helps.
I notice that the timer doesn't stop until the brake is pressed; makes sense.

Still learning.

Tested out CarPlay using Waze. That works well, BUT Waze and the Lucid navigation don't work concurrently. Turning on the Lucid nav stops Waze and vice versa.
That's a bummer - I'd like to see both - Waze shows me accidents, cops, etc and Lucid nav will route to chargers.

There doesn't seem to be any change in the DreamDrive Pro. I was hoping for an update on the self-driving and the Auto Park, but I guess we'll wait until the next update.

I believe the car forgets the phone for you. So it's kind of fool proof. Don't know about the phone forgetting the car as I had already removed it.

Happy to have CarPlay and LOVE LOVE LOVE teh audio quality improvement that comes with it. Bluetooth audio does not do this car justice.

Still have the window going the wrong way issue.

Still show the seat menu on startup everytime, even though i leave teh car in nav on the pilot panel.

Did not have to update the fob.

The phone prompted me to initiate CarPlay, but i said no, forgot the phone and started from scratch as recommended

Update downloaded and CarPlay looks pretty good. However, it seems like it doesn’t actually integrate with the car or did I just not do it correctly? I know on the Mach-E it will show arrival percentage, auto route you to charger sit needed, etc. seems this update doesn’t do that though?
I know my wife's ID Buzz doesn't integrate either, but some of the upcoming Toyota EV models apparently ONLY have route planning through CarPlay's maps app. Not sure what on the backend impacts this decision either way :/

For what it's worth, I've been really pleased with Gravity's built in maps. It's only made weird choices a handful of times. Well, and it did try to kill me once by sending me down a oneway the wrong way, but mostly it's been really great!

And they all get a fail from me as well honestly. BMW and Ford both did it and it's just lazy on any manufacturers part to not implement this.
Do we have evidence this is laziness? I'd definitely prefer the deepest integration possible, but it doesn't seem implausible that there are other tradeoffs involved. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure.

Wow, if you hate CarPlay you're going to hate this implementation. I love it though!

I hate CarPlay and think it has no place in vehicles of this price point when they now have native apps and connectivity integrated directly into the car. So i'm hoping when people see how outdated it looks and with its big ass icons people may turn to the dark side and just use the native UI. Very wishful thinking on my part though :p

I get your point! The map graphical integration on the Clearview screen is so dang great! I just want to have Siri instead of Lucid's personal assistant and Apple music, however as soon as/if there is an integrated Apple Music and some more apps built in to Lucid infotainment, I'm ditching CarPlay. I miss the scrolling of the right steering wheel pad to change the upper right of the Clearview cockpit to different apps.
