This went to Production on November 1st. I ordered on October 31st. I requested the VIN immediately.
If it went to production the day after you ordered, you must’ve gotten a car they were already building. Did you work with an SA for that? Did you know when you ordered it would immediately be in production? Sounds like it was already in production…

SA showed me a gravity that was going to production on November 1st for which VIN was available, he then requested the VIN to be attached to my order and it got assigned. J am still seeing it is in Production. MY SA tells me that it is out of assembly line now, but I do not see that status.

Don't be surprised if your next notification is that your vehicle has arrived at the delivery center. I ordered mine in May. I went to Newport Beach for a test drive on Aug. I was later told that there is a vehicle that was in queue for production but I had to add the technology and tow package upgrade so I did. Next notification I got from my SA was on Oct 4 that it has arrived at Costa Mesa and can be delivered in a week. No updates in my dashboard in between. Unfortunately, it didn't pass inspection and took over a month to fix. It was finally delivered yesterday Nov 9. They problem was with the taillights not turning on and a battery had to be ordered and replaced.

Yes. I just got the notification that My Factory Production and QA Testing is complete and it will go to the studio in Virgina for next inspection before delivering it to me. I hope they don't find any issues during that inspection.

oof. at least they caught it, I could have tail lights out and never know it.

What testing they do at the factory? Can we trust them?

My SA told me that there was a software problem that made the taillight inoperable. Why that would take a month to resolve, I had no idea. Later on, I was told that it was a hardware issue. The 6 Volt battery (?) had to be ordered and replaced. I think this makes a little more sense why it took a month. Delivery was set on Nov 9. Costa Mesa called me on Nov 8 at about 200 pm to inform me that the car was picked up and will be delivered the following day. Nope! He called that night at 800 pm to let me know he will be arriving before midnight.

He unloads the car in the middle of the night, we took some pictures, I accepted the car and he says, "the car is all yours". No different than ordering on Uber Eats, except this was a $ 118000 item. So far everything is working as advertised... interior, exterior, software, fob, etc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

We don’t know what is done at the factory. My sense is if they knew a specific car had a specific issue, they wouldn’t deliver it. It’s a pain for them and causes issues for their service team and additional costs to the company. The issue they seem to be having is the cars have issues after NOT having issues for a long time. That is, they’re not predictable.

That said, if you feel you can’t trust them, that’s your call and only you can decide. Not sure how you’d know unless you have direct experience but, again, your call.

If I didn’t trust Lucid I wouldn’t keep my Gravity. That doesn’t mean I am defending bugs, fob, etc. but it does mean, based on my personal experience with them, I trust the company as a whole. Perfect? No. But no company is perfect.

The point I am trying to make is that issues like a non-functional tail light or a 6V battery problem are basic items that should be addressed before the vehicle ever reaches the studio. I placed this order because I trust the company and the product. I will be the first Grand Touring customer in the Pittsburgh, PA area, and that trust matters. My concern is about the quality assurance process, not the company itself. I understand that vehicles are held back when issues are identified, but if QA is not catching these problems early, the company ultimately bears a higher cost and the customer experience is impacted.

My SA calls me that car is ready to go to the studio in preparation for the delivery but no update on the dashboard yet.

My fully loaded GGT with HUD has finally entered production. Green with 21/22 wheels.

1. Ordered 4/28/25
2. Told I was in pre-VIN/batch assigned Sep. 2025
3. Found exact match on available vehicles 10/31/25 but it had $1500 transfer fee. SA told me my order was due to start production first week NOV. so decided to wait
4. 11/8/25, SA says planned production is 11/10/25
5. 11/13/25, finally in production

Nice to finally be in production. Good news is factory production is now around 10 days based on some recent posts here, so hopefully delivery by early to mid December.

SA said they are prioritizing pre September orders to try to get a “majority” done by year end. Post September orders are being told don’t expect until early 2026.

I was told two days ago that mine (ordered July but changed spec in August) likely won't be delivered before the end of the year a couple days ago so YMMV.

Yeah, you noticed the statement from SA had two key modifiers “try” and “majority”. My gut instinct would be that orders placed up through June 2025 have a “decently hopeful” chance of delivery by year end. July orders in the maybe category and August or later, most likely not for delivery this year. But agree with your YMMV. Probably be some April/May orders that will miss year end and some August/September orders that may slip in before year end.

Ordered on 3/18/2025:
Green, Yosemite, 20/21, Platinum, 5-Pass, DDPre, Dynamic, Tech, Comfort, Towing
Changed Platinum to Stealth on 6/13/2025 because @Ron_Burgundy was right. :)

SA texted 11/2/2025 to warn that it was going to production in a few days since he knew I might want to bag.
I waffled for 3 days and noted on web site it had gone into production 11/5 (Oh darn now I have to get it).
SA texted 11/6/2025 to say it was in production.
Dealer emailed to say production complete 11/13/2025, 7 days after 8 months to start.

I'm too nervous to say YA!
Wife is ambivalent, can't wait for the told you so

Ordered on 11/7/2024:
Aurora Green, Platinum, 20/21, fully loaded

7/27/2025 change to 21/22 after realizing 20/21 is not available in coordinating Platinum

Week of 9/15 status changes to In Production

10/9 SA reaches out to let me know the car is in factory QC

11/14 SA reaches out to let me know the car is still in factory QC, and offers to swap to another VIN with the same exact spec but with Stealth instead, I accept. This new car was projected to arrive at my local SC this week to start PDI, but I haven't heard anything yet ahead of the weekend. Portal still shows "In Production"

Take it with a grain of salt, apparently this other VIN with an early November build date was built and passed QC all within 3 days.

Nothing against the poster here, it’s just been a common challenge.

My unsolicited advice is don’t switch VINs unless the one to which you’re switching is at an SC near you. Sometimes the devil you know is better than something new - or whatever the saying is. I think I’ve cross posted or reposted that advice, so I will stop before I get muted by one of those salty, unreasonable and downright power hungry mods…😀

Back to staring at my newly ceramicized (not a word) Gravity.

Status changed to "Preparing for Delivery" literally 20 minutes after I posted 😩

Thanks for the advice, unsolicited or solicited, welcome all the same - I wasn't going to switch (I had read the same guidance on the forum) but what pushed me over the edge was that the new VIN was already factory gated and the initial VIN was still stuck in QC (for 6+ weeks). I saw it as a win-win for me - avoid a car that failed QC and sat there and also benefit from 1.5 months of manufacturing maturity.

Two white Gravities Dream edition with 22-23' wheels were available this morning in Lucid's internal inventory.

Curious to see when you hear something from your SA and receive your car.
Mine changed to "Preparing for Delivery" yesterday, and my SA emailed me today saying he’ll have some exciting news very soon.
He didn’t specify what "exciting news" or "very soon" actually mean, but I'm guessing the car is either awaiting PDI at SC or is currently being transported there.
