My frunk will only open with two attempts. It basically unlatches on the first try and then opens on the second try. Both fob and buttons have the same issue. Is that what everyone else is experiencing?

There seem to be a number of people who have reported this issue. It's a known problem with the frunk latch, and merits a service appointment to correct it.
 
I have Lucid Air with similar condition as yours at the beginning. Siñce yours is gravity, and it might act differently but...., based on my experience, you might not be able to open/close completely sooner or later. Please do not use frunk but call customer service for mobile service or scheduling SC. With incomplete closed frunk, you might get alerted and you will only be able to drive 15-20mph....
 
You need your frunk latches adjusted or replaced. Call service.

Yes, same experience, although after a few repeated cycles it began to open with a single attempt, almost like it's warmed up or worn in.
I also have a theory that after a car wash and subsequent drying the rubber seal gets tighter, requiring more force to break open, which triggers sensitive obstruction sensor, interrupting the opening cycle.
 
My frunk also did not open on first try - it always needed two tries. Past tense, so read on:

Due to a minor snafu on my DA's part, I needed to go back to the delivery/service center. I asked that my frunk problem be addressed while I was there, and waiting if needed.

Well, turns out that the fix is "usually" simply adjusting the protrusion of one of the two pads on the underside of the frunk lid. If the frunk isn't high enough, then the latch doesn't clear the lock mechanism in time the first try, but since the hood is then not all the way down, it clears the second try. So, twisting one of the spacers so it stuck out a tad more fixed it. Took me longer to write it than for him to do it. As a side benefit, my gap lines are not more uniform as well.

Let me know if you want pictures of what to adjust - no tools needed.
 
What's more effort; making and doing a tweak appointment or pressing a button twice?

The two button press works until it doesn’t, then it thinks it’s open and the car won’t go over 13 mph. The alignment gets ever so slightly worse until it fails.

Well then I have been put in my place. For me, I would tweak it myself as that is less effort than a service appointment.
 
To try it yourself, just twist one or both of these a half-turn at a time, counter-clockwise:

If you're worried about messing something up, keep a count of how many turns so you can twist them back.

Is that really the only adjustment that throws them out of whack tho? I thought it was an alignment issue with the double motorized latches??

I can't say for sure, obviously. But, my experience was that from new my frunk behaved exactly like Kyle's review car - it would try to open, then fail and stuff would bend as it tried and gave up. The second try always opened it.

I'm sure there are other failure behaviors and/or mechanisms that would require adjusting/moving the latches instead or as well. But, this is easy to try and to put back, so is probably worth a shot. It worked for my car.

Thank you for posting that photo. This is exactly the reason I read these threads to glean helpful info on this car, especially 'bout stupid little stuff where I didn't need to drive over the mountains going 13mph to go to the service center for a three sec adjustment !! Thanks again; you probably saved someone a dangerous drive home.

it did for me. I noticed that the left side was really way further out then the right side (counter clockwise turning), once I eye balled it to the same lenght, opens and closes at first try. did 10 in a row, no issue anymore. you actually have a rubber marker on the thing you twist, so you can remember where it was before if things got worse.

To be clear, this is adjusting the resting height of the frunk hood's front so that the big bracket is positioned better relative to the electronic latches. If there a lateral (horizontal) problem, this won't fix it. If the latch mechanisms aren't unlatching, this won't fix it. If the struts aren't pulling the hood up properly or with enough force, this won't fix it.
All I know is that the DA at Lucid saw how my frunk didn't open, which looked and behaved exactly like Kyle Connor's in a video, and immediately went to adust these pads and fixed it first try.

Worked great for me. I wasn't using using the frunk because of the hassle. So much better now. Thanks for posting!
 
I was having issues with both the frunk and trunk sticking as well. I just adjusted on both and it's working beautifully. Here's another thanks for posting the solution.
