Frunk Malfunctioning

Does anyone know how to reset/recalibrate the frunk? Mobile service worked on my car in trying to resolve a "clicking" (not creaky) steering wheel when turning but it appears in the process the frunk somehow got messed up. When I try to open it, it unlatches the lock and just gets stuck there. I have to press the frunk button multiple times (lottery) to get it to close again.

Service. I think mobile can do a frunk realignment. But you can’t do it yourself.

Be careful with this. My strong advice is that, once you get the frunk lid closed, don't use it again until the problem is resolved by service.

We've had multiple frunk lid adjustments and repairs on our Air, including adjusting the latches, realigning the hinges, replacing the struts, and replacing the latches.

On one occasion in which the lid behaved exactly as you described, on one of my multiple attempts the frunk lid appeared to relatch but actually didn't. I could neither reopen the lid nor get it to latch firmly. It put the car into limp mode, and it had to be towed to a Service Center, leaving me stranded until someone could pick me up. Meanwhile, the car sat in a parking lot overnight while waiting for the tow.

I had the same problem as HMP10. But even after that was fixed, it sometimes unlatches and starts to open and then stops. Service said it sometimes senses resistance that causes it to stop opening. Evidently, applying some lube to the right parts can fix it. Unfortunately, I don't recall what the 'right parts' are. But your mobile service tech can probably tell you.

Even when the first button push results in just cracking open, the second button push always works for me.

The Service Center said the frunk jamming that put our car into limp mode was due to the lid hinges loosening and getting out of alignment. As we have had so many problems with the frunk lid I never use the frunk. It's just dead space as far as I'm concerned. The only time I ever open it is to dry the car after a wash, which is what I was doing the day it jammed and stranded at a carwash.

It's also why my blood runs a bit cold every time I read a post about the Gravity frunk lid showing any jerky behavior. I have come to the conclusion that Lucid, for whatever reasons, simply cannot get vehicle entry/starting and frunk opening right. I really wish they would return both to conventional keys and manual latches.

My brand new ”160 mile driven and 6 days old”, Air Touring with the power Frunk is not closing(shut) completely nor able to open on Frunk. It is now in IMP mode and can only drive 15mile max. I was able to park at my front porch. What should I do to close completely such that I can drive normally before the service come??? Need help!

Press down hard above the L and D in the LUCID logo on the top of the hood. That's where the latches are, and you're trying to get them to latch. At the same time, call service and they will need to either adjust or replace the frunk latches.

To be clear: do not 'leave it this way' after you have it latched. I wouldn't use the frunk again until service fixes it.

Thanks for the tip. I was able to close the Frunk as you mentioned it after struggling for 45min. The main point to close completely is to manually push and keep the Frunk hood pressed until you hear the locks taking the frunk hooks. (Slamming the hood like ICE vehicles does not work.)

Called customer service and forwarded the issue to service center. Due to my location(El Paso, TX), they do not have plan for mobile service in Oct. 2025: have to send the vehicle to AZ service ctr on 10/20(they will come and tow the vehicle for repair). They told me AZ ctr only have one mobile service unit....

Got a phone call today from Lucid service that they will take my car to service ctr at AZ for adjustment. I requested again for mobile service for later date since I really enjoy my baby, but theytold me that they also got alert notice that my Touring rear motor is getting unusually HOT... No extreme driving for 700 miles as far as I can remember... Anyway, I am glad to get it inspected ......Hmmm. While it is good to hear that they were notified for HOT motor, which might require replacement, according to Service; I wish I could get that kind of notice/alert on my app or on my vehicle screen/setting. Hope no major issue on my baby mario cart....
