Interesting afternoon. My 2022 GT has been great with only a few glitches but I have to say a few more since last update. CarPlay drop out never was an issue, now common. Slower door response as well. Today the cockpit panel went lame and failed to comeback with 2 soft reboots. A walk- away reboot did fix it. I spoke with customer care to discuss what happened and also that the car is requesting PIN on a frequent basis. A new issue. He said it was likely that fob batteries are weak even though the fobs are never used and were residing in an RFID pouch miles away. His explanation that fobs are communicating their status from the pouch seems illogical to me. Is there any credence to this? Or just CS rambling.

In my experience, the fob batteries last 3-6 months when fobs are stored in faraday pouches. I just buy a 10-pack of name-brand bitterant-free cells on Amazon and use them generously. If you have a digital voltmeter. the cells should be replaced at around 3.10 volts. Close to 3.0 volts = totally dead.

I guess what I was most curious about is the report that the PIN request is the result of low batteries even though they are never used and are nowhere near the car. How can the car know the batteries are low in that circumstance.

Try restarting your phone. If no improvement, try deleting and then re-pairing your phone.
I don't think it has anything to do with the fobs

Nope. If you don’t have the fob with you it has nothing to do with the fob. Try fully unlinking your mobile key - delete it in the car and in your phone’s bluetooth settings - then set it back up.

All been done. I think the CS was blowing smoke on this one. They are doing the 24 month service in a few days. They can address it again.
