Flaking center console metal trim, Warranty-able defect?

This flaking of the metal trim has been steadily increasing in my car. Had anyone experienced this? Any any idea if this is something that warranty may cover? It’s actually relatively sharp and could cut you if you’re not careful

Worth asking, but I bet it’s from moving the wireless charger up and down? (Not that it should be happening, but that’s where mine runs too)

I did catch early on that moving the charger could rub this but it really hasn’t been out more than 2 or 3 times. Most of this progression I’ve seen is from putting the phone in and out and from metal water bottles in the cup holder area
