New owner of an Air Pure here with some opening thoughts, likes and dislikes, and questions. This is all coming from a 2013 Tesla Model S P85, so already familiar with EV ownership. I'm broadly very happy with the car.

. Regen seems to be weaker at freeway speed and stronger when you're in stop and go slow traffic. Even with creep mode on, it's an adjustment relative to the Tesla.

. The 360 camera (DreamDrive Pro) and such are really useful. I like how the car goes into parking camera mode, automatically, when pulling into the garage.

. First "safety" feature disabled: the distracted driver detector. Tons of false positives.

. I really wanted ventilated seats, and they work as advertised. I ended up with the 20 way and massage. The extra adjustments seem nice, but not sure if the massage is something I'd ever actually use.

. The stereo (pro version) is way, way too bass heavy and the EQ doesn't give you enough control to flatten the sound out.

. I normally use YouTube Music for my streaming, but I want to use the native UI, as opposed to the limited Bluetooth controls. I signed up for a trial Tidal account, and managed to crash the Lucid media app after too much clicking. A soft reboot by holding the Air logo at least got everything working again. Still need to figure out the best way to get music into this thing.

. Related: Android Auto would be great if it was available, as a solution to the music streaming. Once that's available, I'll probably kill the Tidal account.

. USB music: I tried this on the Tesla, loaded 100GB on a USB stick, but the UI sucked. Haven't tried on the Lucid yet. Is it better?

. Charging: to my surprise, there's no way to tell the Lucid to draw less than 40A. This was a very useful feature on the Tesla, because our garage gets hot in the Texas summer. Reducing charging current also reduced waste heat from the car.

. Keys: The Tesla keyfobs have three buttons and are reasonably intuitive since the fob is shaped like the car. You know which button opens the trunk vs frunk by shape. I'm never going to remember the click patterns on the single button Lucid. Also, I got some cheap silicone covers for the Tesla keyfobs so they'd attach to a standard round keyring. Can't find anything equivalent for the Lucid keyfob.

Overall, very satisfied with the car. Looking forward to seeing what comes in future software updates.

I was initially skeptical of my GT's massaging seats, but found them to be very helpful on long trips in reducing driver fatigue.

You may want to check your steering wheel's position to make sure that the face detector can see your eyes. It's the small black appendage under the driver's display and is easily blocked by the steering wheel base. I had to adjust the wheel position somewhat from my normal in order to get it to work.

It doesn't take too long to remember the fob click patterns:
One click = lock
Two clicks = unlock
Press and hold = frunk
Click, press and hold = trunk

You can always use the phone app if you forget.

Not sure if this will help your regen but maybe if you turn off the "creep" mode and go with "Hold" you regen might improve?? I really don't like the "creep" mode and my regen works very well unless I've charged up to or close to 100 SOC in which case regen is severely reduced.

In Kyle Connor's video of Gravity there was a screen that showed controls for reducing the charging rate. I am hopeful that it is already in Gravity and will come to Air fairly early in 2025. I think that it is in the works.

I've had my pure now for one week and all I can say is that the infotainment on this is far behind.. I just came out of a 2021 mb a-class with all the bells and whistles and the interface on Mbux far exceeds what Lucid can do... I'm very disheartened at the lack of a user friendly interface and I'm constantly taking my eyes off the road to do anything. it takes multiple steps just to get to the radio, I can't flip through my favorites (Xm Or Radio) with just the hand buttons on the Wheel, the hey Lucid feature cannot connect to my Android contacts at all so I have to look at my phone to call, the auto brights have a delay on activating and deactivating and rain messes it up consistently so I have to turn it off... setting your home or work address as the home screen? No thank you! I don't need everybody to know where I work or where my home is whoever gets in my car so why is this not an option to set your home screen? I'd rather just have my radio come up or shoot even the navigation pop up! I feel like this UI is a complete downgrade from my MB and I know Lucid has the tech so I'm not sure why it's taking them so long... I would happily be a beta user for any of their Tech!! I want to love more than just the drive, I want the Comforts of Technology too

So you only gave it one week and decided you don't like it? Did you take a thorough test drive in the car to make sure the interface was to your satisfaction prior to purchasing? There's information here on the forum about using android auto. The official release is imminent but there is a workaround if you wish to use it.

Yes I drove it for a good hour and yes I played with the car prior to purchasing, but I did not connect to my phone to it or the XM/radio was not connected/set to my favorites. Nonetheless I'm merely stating an opinion that these are surely simple fixes for the lucid tech guys in making it a more user friendly interface- hopefully in the works. No I did not notice that the home screen every single time came up with Home/work addy once a profile was put into the system. And just because the UI "isn't to my satisfaction" does not mean that I don't like the car completely? There are a lot of suggestions that I hope they take from these forums because I'm clearly not the only one who has their opinion about the UI/infotainment.

Software isn’t Lucid’s strong point at the moment. They’re quite slow to rectify things / add new features also. However, Peter Rawlinson has stated that software is the number 1 priority now because even he’s been a little critical of it.

UX3.0 is also in the works which is a complete overhaul of the current UX. Not sure if/when that will make it to the Air though given the screen layouts between the Air & Gravity are different plus the Gravity has more functions on the steering wheel which should allow for some more direct control with the UI.

Is there anything you liked about the car? I mean, based on your post I could not glean why you bought it…

I've been watching and had a strong interest in Lucid since it went public 2021 but since it was a "new car on the market" I wanted to wait.. which I did and I Glad I did. I wanted to go EV sonner than later and was not totally against Tesla but even the guys at Lucid confirmed that all of them came from Tesla and Tesla was cutting a lot of corners which I did notice over the last few years as well. Nonetheless, the torque, quietness, range, size of the vehicle, it's sleek design is everything that I have wanted in an EV for sure; I get free charging at work (4d/week) so that was definitely part of the solidifying Factor as well. I'm sorry I came off as a little sour but after already going on one long road trip with it I got intimate real quick with my Lucid and noticed a lot of differences in the technological choices between two very different companies....

I'll have to try and stay up with all these updates! Is there a certain site or form that you follow for such information?

You've found it - right here!

The OP stated: " The 360 camera (DreamDrive Pro) and such are really useful. I like how the car goes into parking camera mode, automatically, when pulling into the garage."
I don't see this with my car.
Once in a blue moon, it does that but most of the times, I would have to turn on the cameras manually.
HomeLink is geofenced and works as expected.
Do others see their cameras turn on automatically upon entering the garage?

My car's 360 cams turn on most of the time on entering my garage. I think it is triggered by a combination of low speed and the ultrasonic sensors on the bumper seeing something nearby. My Volvo EV does the same.

So it sounds like the combo of the way I drive and my garage's topology is outside of the operating parameters for the parking camera mode?
Our EQS likes my driving better, though.

Why couldn't they just give pictures, after 2 years I still keep forgetting, what a silly idea! At least Lucid learned and changed for the Gravity.
