New owner of an Air Pure here with some opening thoughts, likes and dislikes, and questions. This is all coming from a 2013 Tesla Model S P85, so already familiar with EV ownership. I'm broadly very happy with the car.
. Regen seems to be weaker at freeway speed and stronger when you're in stop and go slow traffic. Even with creep mode on, it's an adjustment relative to the Tesla.
. The 360 camera (DreamDrive Pro) and such are really useful. I like how the car goes into parking camera mode, automatically, when pulling into the garage.
. First "safety" feature disabled: the distracted driver detector. Tons of false positives.
. I really wanted ventilated seats, and they work as advertised. I ended up with the 20 way and massage. The extra adjustments seem nice, but not sure if the massage is something I'd ever actually use.
. The stereo (pro version) is way, way too bass heavy and the EQ doesn't give you enough control to flatten the sound out.
. I normally use YouTube Music for my streaming, but I want to use the native UI, as opposed to the limited Bluetooth controls. I signed up for a trial Tidal account, and managed to crash the Lucid media app after too much clicking. A soft reboot by holding the Air logo at least got everything working again. Still need to figure out the best way to get music into this thing.
. Related: Android Auto would be great if it was available, as a solution to the music streaming. Once that's available, I'll probably kill the Tidal account.
. USB music: I tried this on the Tesla, loaded 100GB on a USB stick, but the UI sucked. Haven't tried on the Lucid yet. Is it better?
. Charging: to my surprise, there's no way to tell the Lucid to draw less than 40A. This was a very useful feature on the Tesla, because our garage gets hot in the Texas summer. Reducing charging current also reduced waste heat from the car.
. Keys: The Tesla keyfobs have three buttons and are reasonably intuitive since the fob is shaped like the car. You know which button opens the trunk vs frunk by shape. I'm never going to remember the click patterns on the single button Lucid. Also, I got some cheap silicone covers for the Tesla keyfobs so they'd attach to a standard round keyring. Can't find anything equivalent for the Lucid keyfob.
Overall, very satisfied with the car. Looking forward to seeing what comes in future software updates.
