First day Air Pure thoughts/observations

."Charging: to my surprise, there's no way to tell the Lucid to draw less than 40A. This was a very useful feature on the Tesla, because our garage gets hot in the Texas summer. Reducing charging current also reduced waste heat from the car."

I just got my Air a couple of days ago and am also surprised your can't modify the A. It tries to pull for the full 80A from my Tesla wall charger and I'd like to reduce this to ~40A.

You may want to check your steering wheel's position to make sure that the face detector can see your eyes. It's the small black appendage under the driver's display and is easily blocked by the steering wheel base. I had to adjust the wheel position somewhat from my normal in order to get it to work.

Interesting point - I noticed my Lucid Salesperson adjusted my steering wheel (after I set it up) for the face recognition. He said it was so the camera would be able to see my whole face. Silly positioning for the camera if it can be easily blocked by the steering wheel!

The ability to set charge current was a feature the Kyle Connor showed in his Gravity review so I expect that it is a feature that will come to Air soon also. The Wunderbox has the capability to do this.

Yup my salesman said if you drive with your hand on the top of the steering wheel it will block it too... he advised to turn the drowsy and distracted driver feature off.

I think the ability to dial down the charging speed is important. If you happen to visit a older house and use the NEMA 14-50 plug, I have read there are a lot of houses that use #8 wire that isn't really rated for sustained 40A usage.

New owner of an Air Pure here with some opening thoughts, likes and dislikes, and questions. This is all coming from a 2013 Tesla Model S P85, so already familiar with EV ownership. I'm broadly very happy with the car.
I'm quite impressed that you held onto the '13 tesla for so long, I traded mine in for a '15 when AWD and AP rendered the '13 functionally obsolete. My only regret was being unable to get the british racing green paint since it was one of the first colors to be discontinued.

I had the same thought. Got used to the steering wheel position after a few drives.
Lucid has greatly improved the location of the face cam on Gravity.

I like my steering wheel to be as low as possible however in this car using such a position blocks the speed indicator so I adjust the steering wheel to allow me to see that readout. which in turn does have an effect on the camera that monitors my face. for me it is a trade off, do I want to be warned to keep my eyes on the road or do I want to see my speed.
