This thread will be short, daily posts about my favorite features. Some will be features many cars have, some unique. Feel like we need a thread that highlights features and not only bugs, etc. Let some love in here…

Feature 1 - Real Buttons - love the real buttons for hvac, volume and customization. Great mix/balance of screen and easy access. And now, a haiku to show my gratitude.

Big screen shouts at me,
but a few buttons reply -
“Click!” and I just grin.
 
Oh to swipe up and dash away the alerts… be alert… the world needs more lerts.

I really do love the steering wheel controllers. After becoming very used to the Tesla rollers and their awkward side to side clicks… and the Model X haptic turn signals which are very hard to get used to… the 3 and Y and CyberTruck clicky ones were somewhat better but still awkward. The small set of buttons and stalks seems very friendly. And I am no luddite… been adjusting to screens etc since 2013… but the Lucid instrumentation strikes what feels like a perfect balance.
 
I find myself pleasantly surprised by how tight the turn radius is, of course w/ the rear wheel steering as a part of the dynamic handling package. It seems like there's always another ½ a steering wheel turn than what I expect, and it comes in handy in a bunch of scenarios:
  • Right turns into tight traffic where I need to get onto the right lane and accelerate to the speed of traffic
  • U-turns on 2-lane roads that would normally be awkward 3-point turns
  • Getting out of tight parking spaces
  • Carving up a winding road at about 10mph more than I'd be comfortable with in a SUV (e.g., my previous Model X), with a low/very low ride height.
The Gravity is teaching me to appreciate a side of driving EVs that goes beyond just raw HP/acceleration.

I agree with this. The swipe controls on the steering wheel are a really smart design and use them constantly.

I have really appreciated that in my former ride… a Cybertruck. The 4 wheel steering was awesome and part of what made me upgrade to the dream editon… the air suspension and rear steering is wonderful once you get used to it.
 
Another great feature - Sanctuary. Had to take my kid to soccer after a rough day. Enjoyed going through all of the meditations and the ocean. Needed? No. Really cool and relaxing. Definitely. Especially with Atmos.
 
A small software nicety: the car knows, between the ext. proximity sensors and when you slow down, when you're getting close to parking and auto-switches to the 360° + camera views, while exiting out of that view coming out of parking is configurable to mph. The combination makes it so I rarely have to manually activate any camera functions and it shows up when I need it to.
 
Not a feature, really, but given all the software challenges, felt like this needed a shout out:

- No meaningful vampire drain

I can easily leave my car overnight and lose no range. Not sure about a week, but seems very minimal.

This was a major issue early on with my 2023 R1S and 2016 Model X.
 
Today’s feature - ventilated seats. Especially for longer trips.

Yes, other cars have them, but it works really well (WITH an easy shortcut button) on the Gravity. Our X’s ventilated seat is a joke. The R1S is okay, but requires you to blast A/C to second row to get it to work (in a G1 vehicle). Gravity ventilated seat is just fantastic.

Love it. Use it daily. A gratefulness haiku:

A throne of cool grace.

Interesting, we tried to use them for the first time yesterday, and my wife was complaining that we weren't feeling the air coming up from the bottom of the seat compared to the X (though the X's AC was loud). Maybe we weren't activating it properly.

I've yet to try that feature.
I'll have to give it a try.

We’ve had three X’s with the feature and none noticeably work. For Gravity, there are three levels, so may want to make sure you’re on highest to check it.
 
Here's another neato UI/UX feature that I discovered by accident.

When you're on the home screen in the pilot panel (currently w/ the tripanel layout: maps, music, phone calls), you can swipe down on a panel and load that interface on the infotainment screen beneath. Of course you can also load those sections and more along the bottom dock of the infotainment interface, but this way you can keep it on home up top (which I genuinely think is a good layout that isn't too cluttered or empty) and "throw" that functionality onto the screen below.

In the gravity?! Swiping down from the top brings up the “quick actions” view or whatever they call it… is there another way to do it I haven’t discovered?

I’d love a video, heh

You have to be on home on the main top horizontal screen and then swipe the upper music area, for example, down with your finger and it'll then take over the entire lower screen as music. Also, works with nav if you swipe that little area downward.
Not pulling down the upper part of the lower screen, if that makes sense.

Ohhhhhh! You’re not swiping from the top of the pilot panel. You’re swiping from the top of the right driver cockpit panel. (Yes, I know the names are confusing, I’m not trying to be pedantic; just trying to make sure we’re on the same page.)

That’s cool! I thought this had gone away from Air, but it seems they brought it in. Neat!
