I am driving a 2025 Touring purchased this past December. When I started the car this afternoon I got an alert saying the Face Recognition" is no longer working and have this error on the dashboard:

I rebooted the system but no luck. I'm waiting to hear from Customer Support. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Possible your steering wheel position is such that the camera can't see your face.

It's not a big deal. Face recognition isn't used for much. Yet.

Agreed, I'm not particularly alarmed but I'll see what the wizards at Lucid have to say.

The facial recognition camera is the rectangular black thing attached to and just under the display. You have to position the steering wheel a little lower that you'd expect so that the steering column doesn't block the camera.

I am having the same issue. Has it been resolved? I

Move your steering wheel up or down. The camera isn’t seeing your face.
Yes, that seems to have resolved the problem. That said, with the steering wheel in this new position it is now blocking portions of the dashboard display.

Now u have to adjust ur seating ;)

Riiiiiigth ... but if I readjust the seat, I'll again risk obscuring the facial recognition camera. That's the whole dilemma.

Does anyone have a pic of the optimal steering wheel position not to obscure the camera?
It’s going to be different for everyone based on height, seat position, etc. you’ll just need to adjust the steering wheel up or down (or the seat) to find the sweet spot.

The rule of thumb I used to do was, if I could clearly see the camera from my seating position then I had no issues. That position for me slightly obstructed the “Drive Assist” banner on the cockpit when using DD Pro.

For the new hands-free update, will you have to have a working face recognition? I have to drop the wheel so much I cut the screen in half.

short answer, yes

I used to think my car was, shall we say "showing adversity to my skin tone" when I would get the error at night, but after realizing where the camera actually is, I made the adjustment and have had no issues since. I've instructed Jackie Chiles to stand down.
