Extended Warranty

Remember that there is still four more years to go on the powertrain and battery pack warranty, the most expensive components in the car.
I'm just interested in how out-of-warranty repairs are handled and the main vehicle, bumper-to-bumper 4yr/50k miles warranty is the first of the six warranty types to expire.

I'm hoping by time the battery and powertrain warranty expires the cost of those currently expensive components will have come down due to the existence of newer technology, lower production costs, etc. Especially battery technology.

Heck, eight years from now who knows what will be going on.
I hope repairing/replacing a battery or powertrain component is the greatest of my issues in eight years. :)

I'm out of warranty! We will see how things progress into the out-of-warranty period, but overall haven't had any serious problems with my vehicle. Knock on wood!
Keep us informed.
I always have a home maintenance account with funds for upcoming repairs such as hvac. I go with a worse case scenario for funding; something blows up. :)

I'll do the same with the Gravity, within reason.
Somewhat different from a home since car market value vs. repair cost is a consideration.
Can I keep my Gravity going for 15 years? I might try as long as the repair costs are reasonable.

I've always considered the lack of car payment an added value in keeping a car.
I hate car payments because I like keeping my money to do what I want with it. Like buying more Lucid stock!
Unless I'm spending over $1k a year, every year on a car, I'm good with keeping it running versus buying new.
That's why depreciation is rarely a factor with me. Or at least it has been with ICE cars. EVs may be different.

Look at me. I haven't even gotten my Gravity and I'm talking about how long I'll keep it. :)

Have any out of warranty owners had to go in for service yet? If so, I'd be curious to hear what the various repair costs were.

Recently, I was thinking of starting a thread detailing repair parts cost, and then associated labor cost.

Whenever you start the thread, it should grow, starting EOY and next year as the basic warranty on ADEs and '22 AGTs expire (time wise). Some sooner based on mileage. Over time, that should be a valuable thread for Air and Gravity owners.

I would doubt this will happen. Most of a manufacturers profits come from repair costs, as I understand it.
3rd party extended service plans are profitable because like all insurance, they are priced to cover the high costs of one vehicle with the low costs of another. So Lucid should be able to make even more money if it offered an extended service plan.

Done and Done.
