Extended stop and go not working

I have tried getting my extended stop and go to work; 2 hands on the stearing wheel, looking forward etc... I just can't get it to work. It's very frustrating.

Is there a video tutorial? Any tips??

I have done it on the highway, but I can not get it to work on city streets. Can you turn on highway assist on city streets as well?

It works for me on city streets. You don’t need to have your hands on the steering wheel, but just look forward. If it’s working for you on the highway, then I would make sure that the camera can see your face. You may need to lower the steering wheel. If it can’t see your face or if your not looking forward, then you should at least get the notification that traffic has cleared.

This feature is only available with DD pro right? I have DD premium and I do get the traffic cleared alert but not auto resume of cruise.

I do have dream drive pro, but I would think if you have a cabin camera, they could make this work for you. Maybe, they’re preparing for the traffic jam assist function with hands-free and this is their first step at it. Of course, that would be for DD pro.
 
Both HA and Adaptive Cruise Control are not set up to work on city streets. If you have a street with traffic lights where you are able to engage highway assist, that’s a bug.

Restarting after stopping is new in 2.4. And it is what Lucid calls “traffic jam assist.” In previous versions, if you were cruising along in HA or ACC, and the traffic ahead of you slowed to a stop, the car would stop automatically. But then to get going again, you’d have to either tap the accelerator or push up on the left steering wheel paddle.

In 2.4 (Traffic jam assist) you no longer have to interact to get the car going again. When the car in front of you starts moving, your car will start moving again as well. That’s the only difference.

I’ve found it works great 99% of the time. Once or twice, I’ve had to re-engage manually if I was sitting for a very long time without moving.

Again, this is all on highways, or at least roads that don’t have traffic lights.

Lucid currently has no plans to have the car stop automatically at traffic lights. Or move again automatically when a light turns green. That may change in the future, but the entire current focus is on highway driving. Lucid has never wanted to build “Full Self Driving” whatever that means.

When a light turns green and the car ahead of you moves, you may get a “traffic cleared” message on screen and an audible tone. Particularly if you are NOT looking ahead. This is just to let you know you aren’t paying attention.

Again, things change in the future. But driver assist tech on city streets is not in the current road map.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Does this feature - auto resume - only applicable if you have DD pro or it works fine as long as ACC is engaged, which is not just limited to DD pro?

That’s a great question. I’m not sure. Maybe someone who doesn’t have pro could try it and see?

I’d also be curious if there’s a difference here between regular Dream Drive and Premium.

My guess is it’s pro only. But not sure.

Would love if lucid can provide an instructional video. Also help identify which camera in the cockpit needs to see you. I have tried many times and I always have to engage...

From the owner's manual: This is the camera that needs to see you. I adjust a combination of the seat hight and the steering setting (angle/in-out) so I can see the camera, while also seeing the important parts of the screen.

The interior camera is located on the dashboard directly behind the steering wheel.
NOTE: If the steering column is not positioned properly, the camera might get blocked and Driver Monitoring warnings will be unavailable.

Really? I have driven a lot of roads with traffic lights and activated Highway Assist. It’s a bug and shouldn’t let me?

Ortega Highway, in Orange and Riverside counties, for instance. It lets me drive with HA on from I-5 at San Juan Capistrano to I-215 to Perris on 74. About 23 traffic lights, mandatory turn lanes to stay on the “Highway” and lots of cities and tight one lane roads. Also, I have done it from Coalinga to King City up north on 198 similar conditions.

Ortega is sometimes terrifying for those that know it. I set HA, keep two firm hands on the wheel, eyes straight ahead on the road, and give Lucid as much data for HA feedback as I can tolerate. (Inset “I’m doing my part!” gif) 😆

There are several places in Tucson/Oracle which allow driving with highway assist. For example Oracle Road, which is actually AZ HWY 77. There are many such highways in AZ and many of them run through towns with lights and highway assist works there.
