Hello,

Not sure if anyone is experiencing following noises in the car:

1) When I charge my car at EA (Hyperfast charger) it makes high pitched noise during charging and for some amount of time after charging (while driving).
2) Front top panel was generating some noise and when I touched it was hot. I parked the car for 5/10 minutes and that stopped happening. It seems to me some fan was going off and generating some noise but I am not 100% sure.
3) I feel motor whine on the car is increased in last three years (not sure if that is possible or at least I feel that way). Comparing to Tesla (Model Y) I feel motor whine is much higher pitched in Lucid.

Especially due to motor whine, I feel it is noisier than some of my gas-powered cars. I have car from almost three years; service person kept on telling me that these are normal operations. I have complained about this, but they kept on telling me these noises are normal and as long as there are no warning signs nothing they can do. I am just wondering if anyone had/having any such noises and are they normal? I have videos of these but not able to attach due to size limit here.

Thanks

Unfortunately, the noises heard are the fans working overtime to cool the battery pack under high charging loads. The hood does get warm, maybe even hot to the touch. You'll also feel the frunk get incredibly warm too.

As for the motor whine, Lucid's motors can spin up to 20,000 RPM (if memory serves correctly). This will have a similar pitch to jet engines spinning up.

Whether or not the whine has gotten louder is likely more psychological than actual. I hardly notice the whine anymore. However, when I do happen to notice it on rare occasions, I tend to hear it for the duration of the trip until I forget about it by the next drive.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I have to get used to it, becomes really annoying sometime.

Interesting, inside the car it never bothers me. Sorry to hear you’re experiencing that.

This is what is bothering - it is I think back of the front panel inside the car. It does not happen all the time though.

All of those are normal. Part of the reason you can hear the noise is because of how quiet the car is. With no ICE engine, every small sound gets amplified, and the loud ones sound even louder.

I also had a noise while charging. It was so loud you couldn't hold a conversation standing beside the car. They told me it was normal. Record it if it got worse. For a month, it did not but it sure wasn't there before. Another visit for something else and another " the noise is normal". Strange a 6 figure car is louder than anything else at the chargers. Then the sound changes slightly. Not just a very loud whir but more. I call and tell them this. They say, get a video. I say it sounds like failing barings. Either in a fan or the compressor. Then the AC failed while charging on a 96 degree day. Its normal, it was hot and started working when you drove away. . About 6 weeks in and I'm randomly at an EA charger location with 4 Lucid Airs charging. Mine is way louder and I have a video of the whole thing. I send it to the service facility. They say bring it in. The AC completely fails 2 days later.

It was the compressor. The part is in stock and its fixed that day. I find out the 2026 Airs are now using the Gravity compressor. Its the only part that's ever been in stock for my car. Make what you will of that but it was not normal. Very common but not normal. Not saying this is your issue but keep an eye on it.

Thanks! SC took the car and the responses is same, it’s normal. I sent them video as well, but they think it’s normal since there are no warning/error signs. I hope it is normal as SC suggests.
