Yep. Fans hating on a reviewer that criticizes a car they love is SOP.

I'm willing to give Lucid a lot of slack as an early adopter, having faith that they'll fix the problems. But it's hard to give a glowing review to any car that's got significant issues because you have to base it on what the car is as reviewed.

True, but it’s not too much to ask to know the basics of the car, etc.
 
Agree, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but to have a large a platform as they do and straight up shit on a car/brand in which they clearly were reaching to find stuff wrong (they could have started and ended with the software for real) to the point of making stuff up or not knowing how the car works. Just shoddy work and clear they just flat out don't like Lucid or their vehicles (outside of Sapphire bc they know they would look beyond silly as everyone who touches that car loves it inside and out).
 
I agree with most posters here that the reviewer miss stated a couple things in his review. But ultimately at the end, he sums things up by stating their choice of R1S over Gravity was a “as things stand right now” and stated that if Lucid continues their improvements, they might change that opinion later down the road. Most people on this forum recognizes the teething pains of the current state of Gravity but also recognize the great potential that it can become once these are worked out. That is where I stand.

BUT, if I had both sitting in my driveway “right now” and had to decide which set of keys to give my wife for her to take a short out of town trip with the grandkids, I would give her the Rivian keys. On the other hand, if it was just me driving on same trip, I would take the Gravity.
 
Yeah, Lucid is trying to claw its way out of the "early adopter" phase. The most damning part of the review for me was when he was going on about how he thought early Gravity had the same sorts of problems as early Air. I don't know if that's true, not being there for "early Air." But even the Air as it is now still have some rough spots.

I have a 2025 Air, and I really like driving it. So much so, that I look forward to an occasional work trip during the day that gets me in the car and out of the office. At the same time, I did have to take a moment before I was gone for a few days and leaving my wife with the Air to tell her what to do if the latest weird software error I was seeing popped up. I worry about the mechanical condition of our family's ICE minivan, and the software in the Lucid. The good news is that a reboot usually fixes the Lucid, but they still have gremlins to slay before I can metaphorically just toss someone the keys and be reasonably assured the car isn't going to do something weird while they are driving it.

The problem is the “issues” identified in the Edmunds review are largely imaginary. Sunshades have many clips and are very easy to install, HVAC works great and I have to dial it back usually, it has two very flexible screens to control, not one as the reviewer said, it has B pillar chest height vents not just leg vents, it has cup holders adequate for anyone not in a movie theater drinking the “small” 42oz drink, etc ad infinitum. Like I could do a PhD thesis length paper on all the things that are screwed up on early Gravity but this reviewer misses all of those because he’s a hack and just whined about stuff you might think is wrong if you’re an inattentive slob.

Precisely. It's not that there are complaints or issues; it's that the issues complained about aren't issues and the ones unmentioned are.

They just aren't good auto reviewers anymore. It's sad. I used to read them religiously.

Agree with honest review but don’t agree with the lies, ignorance and laziness on display by the Edmunds reviewer. What a joke….pathetic….
