2022 Lucid Air GT
Hey guys

Just thought I'd post on my recent issue on my 2022 Air GT. I was driving back from work and I get the, "Drive power reduced" and turtle icon. I was able to get home just fine. I tried a hard reboot of the car, but as soon as I put it in gear the turtle popped back up. I left the car in my garage as I waited for a tow truck. When they arrived, I put the car in gear to load it, and I saw that I was getting a, "Drive system fault" error right before it changed to the turtle.

I had an appointment scheduled for next week to have the car looked at for some other items, but the King of Prussia location staff was excellent as always and got me in today and gave me a loaner. Will keep you all posted on what comes up!

Just got an update, the rear drive unit needs to be replaced: going to be a few days.
 
Nice you were able to get the problem addressed so quickly. The Natick SC also seems to be very proactive and excellent to deal with.

King of Prussia service center in PA has amazing staff and have always taken good care of me!
 
The sudden appearance of turtle mode and low power warning that also limited me to something like 52 mph eventually required a front motor unit replacement. Glad my 2022 Air GT was still under warranty. I had the loaner (a brand new touring) for a couple weeks while parts and my turn to get serviced came up. It all worked out.
 
Agreed. I wonder if I will see any difference in terms of the whining noise or anything lole that as I have read the newer motors are a bit quieter.

I wonder what this would cost if it were not covered under warranty
 
I just had a drive system fault warning on last Wednesday of May :( and the car got towed this past Wednesday

And waiting to hear from lucid

This is the first major failure I have had in 2 years & 21k kilometers

Are both your software on version 2.9.0? This seems very odd that TWO people with Air GT's would have the same failure around the same time.
 
Yes, I am on 2.9.0. I got that update done weeks ago and have driven thousands of miles since, so if it is a patch issue, it didnt come up right away

AFAIK, they are the same. It is the motor mount they changed later, I believe, not the motor itself.
