Lucid Brand touring
Today I purchased a used 2022 Lucid Grand Touring with 12,000 miles. Driving from Philly back to Chicago , 4 hours into the drive from leaving the dealership I got this message and the car powered off in a Turnpike in a Road construction zone with no Shoulders at 8PM .. 30 degrees outside. Out of fear I’d be rear end I got out the car and stood outside for over an hour until Highway support came. Luckily I hit the hazards before escaping the car. The car went completely dead. Had it towed, for $300 bucks, then paid $80 more for another tow truck to try and jump it from the passenger rear. Still nothing. I called the dealership at Audi West Chester and my sales rep told me to call my insurance company! Wowwwww!! IS THIS REPAIRABLE OR A COMMON LUCID PROBLEM. BASICALLY ARE LUCIDS LEMONS?

I'm sorry you've run into this; definitely not a fun experience after buying a car, even if it's used. Definitely repairable.

Have you installed the Lucid app? Lucid has 24/7 Roadside Assistance. You can access it through the app, or by calling +1 (888) 995-8243. They will tow it to a Lucid service center for you, and you can get it fixed.

Still sucks, but no - not a lemon. You got unlucky. They'll fix it.

At 3 years in I’m surprised this is still a problem.

Hard to say without knowing the history of the car. I have no idea if it ever saw service from the time it was bought. 🤷‍♂️

12k is the first service, technically, but did they do the one-year or two-year? I have no idea. Has it been to service for the recalls? etc.

Lots unknown, hence why I wouldn't suggest anyone jump to conclusions.

How is this necessarily a Lucid issue? As @borski points out, we have no idea what the service history is on this car.

To the OP, really sorry you had this experience. Hopefully Lucid service can get to the bottom of things quickly and also hoping that any issues with the car are flukes and had nothing to do with use / abuse prior to your buying it.

Unfortunately, a “clean” Carfax showing service from a non-Lucid source does not mean that the proper software updates and/or Lucid recommended services have been performed. Did you check the VIN with Lucid prior to purchase just to make sure everything was cool on that front?

Irrespective, your car is still under warranty and unless the prior owner failed to do software updates (which voids the warranty), I’m certain Lucid will get to the bottom of it and get you rolling again!

Came here to say this. Carfax shows the non-Lucid maintenance was done but nothing by Lucid itself. So sad that your first experience is this way. But, once Lucid takes care of this issue, you will forgive and forget. While you are at it, ask them to perform all the recalls, etc

This brings an interesting question. Will our service calls would be reported on CarFax that was actually done by Lucid ?

Just checked my own. Nope.

I know the ones I had on my Tesla by Tesla never showed up…

I’m really sorry this has happened to you, but it is relatively uncommon and does not mean the car is a lemon. It’s still under warranty, I’m sure they will fix it for you. I can’t help but think that perhaps this is why it was traded in? Who knows.
