Just took about a 350 mile trip between metro Phoenix and metro Tucson. Went the 'country roads' route through Florence and Oracle Junction, so I would estimate about 30% of the trip was using Hands-Free Drive Assist, 40% using Hands-On Drive Assist, and the remainder using Adaptive Cruise. Following 2.8.30, I believe that the HFDA 'Pay Attention' prompts are MUCH more effectively managed, and the HODA prompts to nudge the steering wheel were all but totally eliminated. To be clear, I am a diligent and vigilent driver, so this is not to say that I think the system is not attentive enough. I was quite pleased.

Drive Assist itself performed quite well. One still needs to be on the lookout for moments of terror when a line to the right disappears for some reason, and the vehicle seems to want to veer to the right in search of it. (I don't know why the software is not written so as to have the vehicle just stay a bit to the right of the left side lane markers, which are reliably there, and wait out the return of the right side ones.) Overall, though, the system performed well.

Despite a couple tries at ordering sunglasses that would satisfy the eye-tracking camera, I just can't seem to get there. Oh well. A little squinting from time to time is a small price to pay.

Nice job, Lucid!

Oh... and 3.93 miles per kWh over the course of the trip. Pretty sweet!

Destination sharing still not working for Google or Apple Maps.
 
I think Lucid got sick of people complaining and rather than fix it, they just disabled the function all together 😂

I'm hoping that the reason behind this odd delay is that there is a bigger-picture fix coming. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Sorry to hear this! I simply can’t imagine driving without polarized sunglasses, due solely to the glare on the windshield.

While these don’t nearly match the style points of a Lucid, they slip over my normal (bifocal) glasses easily, and as long as I don’t ever show myself outside of the car with them on everything’s fine!

I also have the little magnetic clip on sunglasses that came with the single-vision glasses that I use when I’m hiking; these are also the amber color, but less dark than the ones above.

I do always use amber lenses, I’m not sure if that is part of what helps, but I’ve never had a single issue with them and Lucid’s eye-tracking. (or is it really head tracking? I’ve noticed that I really can look off to the side with my eyes for a long time, as long as I keep my head forward….. but it does seem like it needs to see the eyes somehow)
