Lucid Air Dream
I received a call last night from my local delivery advisor that my vehicle has left pre-delivery inspection in Chicago and it’s on to the DC area. He asked me what time of day would work for my home delivery this Wednesday (weather permitting) and I chose a time after work. He mentioned that he would call me to confirm the day before.

As a reference I made my reservation in March 2021 confirmed my order in September 2021, made payment in early December and will be receiving in mid January 2022.

I have read almost every thread of initial driver experiences and I am kind of glad that I wasn’t one of the first to receive there DE. I hope that all DE owners will have their cars soon and that most of the bugs and features will be figured out and dealt with.

My experience so far has been good in speaking with both delivery advisor and local final delivery specialist….I would only have hoped that information would have been more forthcoming with delays.

Looking forward to my first drive and the same for the rest of the DE owners.

Congrats. Looks like those fit and finish parts are trickling in finally.

Do you plan on wrapping your DE? If so, what shop are you considering in the DMV area?
 
Let us know what number car you have when it arrives unless you already know?
 
Just received email that my vehicle that was supposed to be delivered this Wednesday has been “delayed because UX/UI and Driver Assistance software software needs updating”…they said “it will be completed by end of this week”

that tells me that Lucid is probably going to do a push very soon with missing Dream Drive functionality!!

I understood you to have said your vehicle left Chicago last Friday and was in the DC area yesterday. There is no service center in the DMV, so the updating would need to come down OTA, unless they are shipping hardware to one of the local roaming service vans. From one perspective, it is interesting that Lucid may have made significant enough revisions to these functions over the weekend to warrant holding off on tomorrow's delivery. Though disappointing, I suspect you might prefer your car delivered with the most current software!

I think you’d rather them fix the day to day software issues before concentrating on Dream Drive. That would be my preference.

Supposedly a lot of the day to day issues got fixed with the DD software update.
 
It's probably very likely they have teams of programmers developing different modules. Programmers developing the DD module probably wouldn't be familiar enough to fix other parts that have their own teams.
 
I was told the update was being done at Goose Island DC where the vehicle was dropped off from West Coast…they must have some sort of prep area in DC
 
Goose Island is outside of Chicago (not DC) and is a major regional service center. It makes sense they would do that type of updating there, rather than locally.

"Goose Island is a 160-acre (65-hectare) artificial island in Chicago, Illinois, formed by the North Branch of the Chicago River on the west and the North Branch Canal on the east."
 
Also in DC where the Tyson’s Corner Studio told me it was being held

Now, that's hilarious. Someone in the Tysons Corner Studio must be seriously mistaken:

Goose Island is a vanishing island located in the Potomac River in the southwest quadrant of Washington, D.C., in the United States. It is a rarely above-water mudflat located at the mouth of Oxon Creek, roughly between Oronoco Bay in Alexandria and Marbury Point, now part of the Blue Plains water treatment plant.
I doubt they will be ferrying your car to and from the Potomac River "Goose Island."
 
I am guessing there is some sort of car place just off island on the DC side…apparently some sort of auto facility
 
Try asking your DA or the Tysons Corner studio manager for specific Goose Island location information. There is another member who reported receiving his car at the Tysons Studio parking lot, not too long ago.
