Lucid Air GT
I am wrorking on a Lucid Air GT from a delaer which had two owners. As per dealer there are no issues with the car. Want to make sure there are no known service issues that previous owners tried to work and gave up and sold. Does Lucid provide service information for a VIN?

Interesting... Any service history isn't reported any where, like Carfax, etc.?

Yes, things like they tried to get service fixe it and it was no covered under warranty and them stepping back and selling the car.

I am the third owner of a 2022 GT. Carfax showed 2 priors in TN, 1 for 1 month & other for 11.
How did it get to CA dealer?
Was only Lucid in big dealer's inventory of 6,000 used cars
Porsche dealer selling it as used with only 700 miles could not help with a story I really wanted to hear, as you do too
No surprises, great car and transaction.
People with money and / or desire do some silly things, i guess

Yes, Lucid has worked with some owners to see how the car was maintained and what happened to it.

Were you able to get this information? I am looking at purchasing a 2023 Air Touring and wanted to see if I can find the service records on the car. CARFAX does not provide that information. Your feedback is appreciated based on your experience.

I haven't checked with service team. Everything i reported to Lucid, they worked and fixed with no push back 🙂

Thanks for your quick response. So you were not able to get any service records before you purchased the car? I have sent a message to Lucid Customer service but I am sure they are going to say that they cannot provide the records due to privacy concerns.

I remember asking before purchase and they said they cannot provide. But they informed me that anything that is under warranty will be fixed as i report. And they did fix everything i reported.

Thank you. As expected Lucid Customer Service came back saying they cannot share the details. Hopefully, I will not have any major issues with the car.

I think all car companies are taking the position that the data belongs to the customer and they can't share it. Of course, they use it themselves but they argue (I assume) that the customer has consented to that. Of course, the customer could consent to the sharing of data if the car is sold but the car companies don't put that in the consent document (on purpose?).

For a company like Toyota or Ford, I agree for companies to take that stance as they are producing cars for years and have a service record over the years. But for new entrants, they need to have some transparency if they want a better buyin from customers and build confidence.

Huh? Them being new changes nothing. I completely agree with what @Steveinarizona said here.

It always struck me as dumb. I could understand if they don't share the prior owner's personal information, but just sharing what procedures were done on the car should not be protected by some sort of privilege.

Don't know if they still do but years ago Jaguar would share records of repairs done at the dealer. Can't see a privacy issue since most report repairs to CarFax which publishes them for a fee.

I called Service, not CS, after I bought, and was given the service history.
