Lucid Air Grand Touring
When I ordered my Lucid Air Grand Touring in 2022, I got every option available. Prior to ordering, I was led to believe it would be full self driving. After over three years of ownership I’m curious as to the level of satisfaction people have with their Lucid?

Initially, I was impressed with the car and the expectation of future upgrades which would fill in the gaps on all the things I was unhappy with such as the self-driving, media interface, speakerphone quality, and so many things too numerous to mention. I bought $300,000 worth of stock too. 🙈

With ten being the highest, what is your level of satisfaction with your Lucid car ownership?

Mine is a love/hate experience so I give it a 5.
 
I love the car, and (auto-open door lags aside) I am even quite happy with my software subset as it stands today. Happy with my local service, too. I'd give it a solid 9 that far into the analysis. On the advice of my cardiologist, I will resist dwelling on, commenting on, or factoring in anything else.

So far (a bit more than 1 year in, ~17k miles) I'd give my 2025 AT (20" wheels) a solid 8 (maybe 8.5) overall. I don't have all the bells and whistles, just Stealth and Comfort package with shades and soft close doors - everything else basic. So the sound kind of sucked until I put a compact sub in the trunk, which makes it 100x better.

I was bummed with a drive system failure in the middle of my road trip (2000 miles from home) but service handled everything well.

I have no interest in self driving at this time, so I don't miss that at all.

It's still the best driving car I've ever had, especially on a road trip. I've never been comfortable enough sitting in any other car to make over 900 miles in one day.

The minor software glitches for me have so far (knock on wood) been just that, minor.

There's a million tiny things I wouldn't mind improvements on, but the only things that *really* bother me are:

- The A-pillar blind spot is MASSIVE. The B pillars aren't as bad but not great.
- Pureluxe seats tear too easily. Already had the driver's seat replaced and I just noticed today the new one is starting to tear as well, despite me trying so hard to be gentle with it. I should have gotten the leather, but at the same time, the faux leather in previous cars was tough as hell, so i know they can do better
- Even the standard sound system should have had SOME bass.
- Key Fob design kinda sucks. I usually use PAAK, but when I do have the fob in my pocket, there's about a 25% chance that it gets pressed against the steering wheel when I'm getting into the car, causing it to lock the car just as I'm sitting down to start driving, and the multi-click operation is laggy and doesn't always work on the first try, except for locking the car - fresh batteries or no.




NOTE FOR LUCID: A fairly easy win for y'all (aside from general software fixes) for next year's model would be to add some actual bass to the standard sound system. It doesn't have to be a massive subwoofer Even the 10" compact sub I got is way overkill really.
 
I give it a 9/10. My car is phenomenal. It is an incredible ride: powerful(!!), nimble (amazing for such a heavy car) and luxurious. The only problem I've had is with the wiper/washer. It works ok, but I don't think it is up to spec. Getting it registered was a cluster-f___, due to misinformation from several parties. The registration guy at Lucid Motors was a complete AH. I had to send emails to the C-Suite to get thing done. All in all, this is a WAY better experience I had with my Audi etron GT.
 
9/10 for my Lucid Air. I really enjoy Dream Drive Pro and I'm very excited for future features to be added. The car rides and drives like a dream. The car is incredibly powerful and can beat 99% of cars on the road. The inside is incredibly spacious and comfortable. Tow minor issues: I wish the facial recognition system worked better & I wish the volume of my car speakers were louder. I also would like it if there was a way to keep the rear cameras on all the time, like the Tesla Model S, so I don't have to rely on driver and passenger side mirrors when switching lanes.

With the caveat that I bought a car without these software upgrades I haven't gotten two of the biggest ones promised that were a lot of the reason I bought the car. I live in a hurricane prone area, and I wanted to use my AT as a backup battery when we lose power, which happens at least every other year or so and yet 3 1/2 years after V2H was "coming" it's not even close. Also not having any kind of sentry mode or dash cam after all these years when the cameras and the software is already there is utterly ridiculous. Combine that with the fact that my mobile key has never really worked consistently and reliably no matter how many software updates get pushed through and I'm already itching for something else. It's just that there's no other electric vehicle that measures up in luxury and driving performance. I'm going 5/10
 
Solid 9/10. Laggy door locks etc but what is simple these days. The car is great.
 
As a glass-half-empty kind of guy, 9/10 and 10/10 are out of question. There are too many annoyances that each of its own are fine, but all together are too much. 7.5/10

I just hope my glowing score doesn't jinx it, fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc...

UI Software: 1

Most conflicted feelings I've ever had about a car: a glorious driving and riding experience sullied by never-ending torment from software malfunctions, some of which seriously impede usability.
 
After three+ years my '23 AGT is by far the best car I have owned. No, it still has annoying glitches but those are overcome by its superb competence on the road. I just finished a 1200 mile trip and the Hands Free feature is a gem with the ridiculous stop and go traffic south of DC for fifty mies on RT 95. Efficiency today in ~70 degree weather at 70 mph+ was 3.9 miles/kWh. Saw very few Airs on the road but when I did they were distinctive with a very strong presence. Fast, smooth and quiet. Funny but now that I think about it saw more Airs than S Class MBs between CT and VA.

I agree. As much as I love the brand and car, the constant blunders, annoyances and quirks can’t justify giving Lucid a 9 or 10. It’s. 7/10 at best.

23 AGT

Love the car. Bought it used from Lucid in September. Coming from a Model S. Was promised something close to FSD was coming early in 26. Crickets. Did get highway hands off, but it is pretty primitive compared to FSD, which is still not mature and falling far short of its promise.

Car has been reliable, comfortable and quiet. There are little glitches such as:
Infotainment system often forgets what I was listening to when I get back in the car​
Door locks work 90% of the time, but the rest of the time they are slow​
GUI could be better. (I know a new one is coming, and I did the chip upgrade)​

So, I like the AGT much better than Model S, but wish they would clean up the little stuff. I don't want the Air to be orphaned as Lucid moves on. With the Model S gone Lucid has an opportunity.

8.5 out of 10.
 
I have a 2023 AT with about 22k miles. I give it a 8/10. Very few real problems, a few annoyances.
The biggest issues for me are really external to ownership. Stock purchase has been a fail as has the resale value. I'm glad I keep cars for 7 to 10 years because trading today would be a major hit to the ownership cost.
 
I am very new into the GGT ownership experience. I had a manufacturing error that resulted in an ATF leak in the front motor, but the service center fixed it and it has been great since then. I didn't have to live through the software issues that some longer term owners experienced, so my viewpoint is not jaded. My only two nits about the car is the lack of XM satellite access. I find that it cuts out when in remote areas when cell service drops out. I also wish that there was a resume button on the cruise control. I imagine that this feature could be added via software (🤞). Efficiency in the last 600 miles has been around 3.35 on mostly rural roads. (21/22 wheels, 5 passenger). In spite of the initial oil leak, I still give it a 10/10. It is a fantastic car.

The XM is not satellite it’s LTE on Lucids

Uh, there is a resume function: just flick that left paddle upward and it resumes your prior set cruise speed.
I too give mine a 10/10, I'm still (2.7 years in) agog with this machine.
 
9 for the Air DE
8 for the Gravity DE (and my wife, without prompting, said the same)

Definitely high scoring, but not perfect.

My Air DE when I first got it in 2022 was a 7, with the software being the worst part by far.

So I’m very optimistic the Gravity will eventually be a 9 too.

I’ve never owned a “10” car.
