Different ways to lock and unlock Lucid Air

Hey Lucid owners,

I know there are different methods of locking and unlocking the car. First is manually pressing on the key fob with its different presses. Second would be keyless entry using the key fob with its proximity sensors, as you approach/leave the car, without touching any buttons. Third, using your phone through the app directly or keyless entry. Fourth, using the card.

However, is there a way to disable the key fob’s proximity of opening and closing the car but still have the ability to manually press on the door handle to open the car and close it?

Turn off passive unlock and/or passive lock in the car's menu.
 
I'm going to turn off passive unlock and see if that helps - I'm having an increasingly difficult time getting mobile key to work. It's been a little flaky for the past few years but noticably worse in the last 3 months. This morning I stood outside my car in my garage for 2 minutes, pushing handles, trying to "wake up" via mobile app to no avail. I had to go back inside and grab the fob.

Yes I've re-paired the mobile app and rebooted the car.

Interesting that in this mode it responds to the manual door press... WHY wouldn't Lucid make the car respond to a door press even if passive unlock is enabled? I'd happily take that mode - unlocks most of the time as I walk up, and if not it wakes on press.

It responds to a handle press in both modes.

Actually it does not. Many times I’ve stood outside my car, pressed the handle, and the handle simply stays depressed with no response of any kind. I can walk around my car depressing all 4 handles when this happens.

Does your car behave differently?

Yup. Press the door handle, unlocks. Press it again, locks. Repeat as often as you’d like.

Passive unlock is enabled and it also unlocks when I just walk up to it. Pressing the door handle is both my main method of locking the car most days and what I do if it doesn’t automatically unlock.

If yours does not work this way, you may need service.

The door handle staying in means it’s searching for a key; if you have a fob on you, it’ll open/close as expected. Your mobile key may not be working correctly if it is not finding it.

Try pressing the door handle with the Lucid app open and awake, or at least the phone awake. Does it work then? Or with a fob?

Well that’s good news then - I’ll put in a service call.
 
To be clear, this is just when my car is sleeping (it’ll never wake up w a handle push) - but apparently that’s not by design.

Fob or phone? If the phone is awake, has Bluetooth on, and the car is asleep does it respond to handle presses?
 
Phone. Have reset and re-paired multiple times, have rebooted car and infotainment as well. Only happens every few times I approach the car.

IPhone is on, awake, has Bluetooth on, has precise location enabled, and car does not respond. Opening up app, trying to wake just spins forever. My car is resting comfortably but I’m ready to go!

I had up to 10sec unlock lags in the past, but my handles have always acted this way (dead) and the super-sleepy-no-wakey thing seems new in the past 3 months.

Can Lucid Air owners disable the key fob’s automatic proximity lock and unlock feature while still using the door handle touch function and manual key fob buttons normally?

Yes, for both Air and Gravity.

Proximity lock and unlock can be enabled or disabled independently.

Note that you then have to press on on the door handle, not just touch it.
