Damage to front

Hi everyone,

I have a leased 2023 AGT, which is due to returned in a few months.

I recently hit some debris on the freeway that caused the damage seen in the pictures. The bottom silver piece sustained some damage, and the body shop said they couldn't fix it, and must be replaced.

Does anyone know what this piece is called, and if it can be replaced? Should I try to have it repaired, or just turn in in to Lucid as is? Is it worth making an insurance claim?

Lower valance, front bumper cover insert, or something similar.

Lucid does not sell parts, you will need to have it repaired by a Lucid certified body shop. I would use insurance because that will probably be $5000+

I see this piece being sold on eBay. You don’t think it’s possible to just replace it? I’m not planning on keeping the car after my lease ends

My local Lucid service center did sell me the $700 black rear trim part.
It sure might be worth asking.

Yes but the bumper is damaged on this one as well you can see the spider cracks

They can’t actually know that until they take the bumper off. There are extremely tightly packed electronics behind the bumper. The cable for the Lidar unit is extremely short as well, and if they disconnect it it will almost certainly need calibration, which will have to be done by Lucid or an authorized body shop.

That’s why they require taking it to an authorized body shop.

I'm surprised the body shop didn't try to answer any of these questions for you (I'm assuming it's a Lucid certified shop).

The black grille is $522.86, the lower platinum colored trim molding is $186.30, the undertray is $398.69, and the shutter system is $966.61. The bumper needs to come off to replace these components, plus calibrations will be needed. I would not be surprised if the FEM (Front end module) is also cracked. Assuming the bumper fascia doesn't need paint work this job would be in the $4000-$6000 range. If the FEM needs to be replaced, $20,000+.

I would not leave this until you turn the car in. By doing so you’ll have no control over the cost assigned to the damage. It could very well be considerably more than the cost to repair it now as Open Lane would have no reason to be conservative in their estimate. You might also forgo the ability to have your insurer cover the damage since it looks like your lease has a few months left. They may or may not cover it if you wait for Open Lane to put a number on it. Best advice is to have the damage assessed by a Lucid certified body shop and bite the bullet on the repair.
