Something else I noticed when testing for the sudden deceleration action; when entering a highway the car knew the posted speed limit before I was on the highway and had driven past a speed limit sign. I noticed the same when merging, via a ramp, from one highway to another.
When entering a road with a speed limit of 65, the car displayed that speed limit before I was on the highway and drove past the speed limit sign.
When I merged to a different highway, on the transition ramp the car showed the ramp speed limit of 45, but then showed the speed limit of 70 for the highway ahead, before I was on that highway. Smart system, but cameras have ADD.
I'm thinking this is an example of how DreamDrive uses HERE Maps data; something
@HC_79 has mentioned before when owners have asked about replacing HERE Maps with Google Maps. Perhaps the HERE Maps data includes the speed limit for roads. This may be a no-brainer to some, and it does make sense. Just never noticed this possible use of the data until recent testing. I usually don't look at the speed limit displayed on the screen until I get an audio alert that I'm 3 mph over the posted speed limit.
