The driver profile on one of our Gravities has become corrupted. When on that profile, the audio system becomes inaccessible: no audio menu, no music playing, no way to switch sources, etc.

The profile management menu in Settings only allows the deletion of secondary profiles. I called Lucid Customer Care to help, and they suggested I do a factory reset. I told them I thought that would not only delete the driver profile but would also take the car back to the initial software load done at the factory and that subsequent updates would have to be reloaded. That confused the advisor, as he thought nothing would happen other than the driver profile deleted, which I could then reprogram.

Advice, anyone?

Software stays at the same level, you lose all settings, including Homelink which is not linked to a profile.
However, I was able to reset my primary profile without factory reset. I created a new profile, switched to it, then deleted original while being in the new one.

Also, I did both things - profile reset and factory reset on different occasions and did not see any gains from factory reset. Profile switch is what fixes the missing music app issue.

I was in the original profile when I accessed the profile management menu. I'll try what you did and report back.

Wonder why Customer Care didn't suggest trying that?

You can’t delete a profile which is currently loaded, and you can’t delete a guest profile, but you should be able to delete any driver profile which is not currently loaded. I think it also requires to unlink keys from the profile you are deleting, or it happens automatically, I can’t recall, but it’s not an issue as keys stay assigned to the car, just not linked to a profile until you link them again to the new profile.

I tried, but it didn't work.

You delete profiles by going into "Manage Profiles":

However, "Manage Profiles" is only available when in the driver profile, not in an added profile:

Customer Care has already put in a service request. I was just trying to save Lucid the time and money from having to send out a Mobile Tech by figuring this out myself. But, frankly, the hours upon hours I've spent futzing around trying to get both our Gravities functioning as they should is getting tiresome. Let Lucid eat whatever it costs them to resolve these innumerable software glitches.

Yea, I hear you, it's their job. Not sure why it's not working for you, I wish I took screenshots when I did this.
Meanwhile, music should work on a new profile without deleting the old one.

Yeah, you have to create a new profile and then delete the old one. And then redo all your settings. Until then, the Music app won't open.

This happened to us once. It's annoying. I hope they fix it soon. *sigh*

Oops, replied before seeing this. Hmm.. this happened to my husband's profile which is bound to the one key fob we have, but wasn't the first created profile. I'll go out to the car and take a look.

Yeah, you're entirely right -- you can only manage profiles from the "Driver Profile" which is the first one created and linked to your Lucid Account. (This is dumb, although not unique to Lucid.)

I would suggest that you never actually use the "Driver Profile" and link the keys/cards to child profiles on the vehicle -- so you are never driving with the Driver Profile active. In your current situation, I'd suggest just creating a new profile for your driving and linking the fob to it.

It's your call, but I'd feel bad bugging mobile service about this because it's just a stupid software thing they can't do anything about. OTOH, perhaps I've been too nice about these things and the answer is to DEMAND SERVICE ON EVERY LITTLE THING so that these issues get logged and escalated and fixed. That seems hostile, but if Lucid doesn't have experienced service leadership, it may be the only way anything will ever get noticed...

Yes our Gravity has a profile designated as 'Primary', so I think this one is the main control for managing profiles (kinda sys admin). It hopefully also gives the car an idea which profile to pick first if both of us have our app on in the car. But I noticed when I went to configure my profile I couldn't do some settings....

My approach has heretofore been your first position, but it is now moving to your second. I paid way too much for these two Gravities to spend as much of my own time as I have trying to get them to work properly.

And I've given up on ever hearing back from the "engineering team" Lucid supposedly had working on the issue that we can't listen to audio sources in either Lucid if any two of them are on the road at the same time, which is a several-times-a-week situation with us.

Even if they know what they're doing -- which I sometimes doubt -- I think the needs-fixing list for the Gravity has simply gotten too long for Lucid's software team to handle. Some things we're going to have to live with for a very long time, if not permanently.

The "back to the day I bought it" software version issue was fixed a while ago. In this case, it's actually probably good advice.

This honestly may just be that it's a hard bug to track down, potentially.

Just want to be sure I understand you correctly. You're saying I can do a factory reset without having to download all the subsequent updates?

Which other things would I have to do again, though?

Reprogram Homelink?
Create new driver profiles for both drivers?
Reconnect music streaming services?
Reload offline navigation maps?
Lose memory of prior navigation destinations?
Restore all the DreamDrive and Safety settings?
. . . .

(I'm not being testy here. I'm really trying to decide if I want to attempt all this myself or wait for the Mobile Tech.)

Yes to all of the above. All of your settings, profiles, etc., will be gone, but it shouldn’t revert you to the software version the car was delivered with.

Seems like the consensus here is to create a secondary profile right away, at delivery. Is that right?
We expect to pick up our new Gravity in the next couple weeks, so I'd like to understand the best practices for managing the profile(s).
I've read this thread and it makes sense to me to not use the Default profile, keeping it intact, just in case.
Thx!

This is what I would recommend. There is no way to reset the primary profile without doing a factory reset of the entire vehicle, it seems.

Slightly off-topic question: for those with only one fob, is it possible to link the fob to a profile other than the "Driver Profile"?

In our family, I have the Lucid account, which I now understand (from this thread) means that I have the "Driver Profile." But my wife will drive the car more frequently than I do, and we only have one fob. Our delivery specialist couldn't figure out how to link the fob to my wife's profile (and was also under a lot of pressure to get us out the door quickly). So, the fob is linked to my "Driver Profile."

Is it possible to de-link the fob from the "Driver Profile," and link it to a different profile? For what it's worth, I would not be opposed to a factory reset: we haven't even stored our seat positions yet....
