Lucid air touring
About 3 months ago , had a mishap and my Lucid needing bodywork. I have allstate insurance and sent the car to the lucid recommended Bodyshop.
Unfortunately there is a blame game going on and my car repairs are yet to get started.
The bodyshop has submitted an estimate. Allstate says they don’t have access to the parts pricing since there is no database and they cannot approve the pricing for parts or repairs. Or atleast that’s their excuse.
It had been frustrating and scared the hell out of me on buying the gravity.
If anyone has been in an accident how did you handle this ?

There are a lot of threads about this already - please search the forum if you haven’t yet.

In short, it depends on: the insurer, the state, and so on. If it comes to it, call your state insurance commissioner. Eventually, your insurer will cover it.

@Bunnylebowski and others have had hellish experiences with Liberty Mutual/Esurance/Allstate (they are all Allstate companies): https://lucidowners.com/threads/what-to-do-if-you-have-an-accident-with-your-lucid.6444/

In short - you’ll be fine, but it will be annoying, and you should switch insurers.

As I have mentioned in my previous posts. I have PURE insurance company.
When I had my accident here was no haggling or shifting of blame. PURE covered the expenses in full and covered a rental car for me while my car was in the shop up to $15,000(max $100 per day). PURE also e-mailed me at least once/week to let me know the status of the repair. They also returned all my phone calls the same day. They are more expensive than other insurance companies, but you get what you pay for. Switch your company and avoid future aggravation.

I also have PURE, as previously mentioned. Can't recommend them enough. Other great insurers include Chubb, SafeCo, Cincinnati Financial, AIG Private Client, and Nationwide Private Client.

I have only used PURE and Cincinnati Financial, both of which were great. I previously had GEICO, which was also easy and spectacular, but once I got the Lucid (and a home), I switched to the HNW insurers like PURE for lots of reasons; among others, they provide "agreed value" insurance rather than "actual cash value," so I don't have to argue about how much my car is worth if it ever gets totaled, etc.

The rental reimbursement is $15k with no limit per day and no time limit, not sure why @WildRide47 had a $100/day limit. I had the choice of whatever rental I wanted; that is, if it was a short time period, I could pick a Porsche or comparable if I wanted to. For a longer time period (which was my case), I picked a Model 3 because it was gonna be a while. But I had that Model 3 through all 3-4 months of my bodywork (it was a big issue) with not even a peep about it. GEICO limited me to 30 days with a $30 or $45/day limit (I don't recall which), and my repair was certainly going to last longer than 30 days.

PURE didn't make a fuss about labor rates, parts, my PPF (which they paid to have redone), and so on. They just... covered it without being annoying.

You really do get what you pay for.

The catch? These insurers are super picky about who they insure, but it is at least worth getting quotes if you can.

I'm trying to convince the wife that we need another Lucid in the event one is slightly damaged. I'll let you know if it works.

Am currently in Rutland VT. looking at a bank of level 2 chargers from the motel window = all vacant. Had hoped to have my Lucid up here to tell everyone it doesn't mind -3 degree F temperatures and 5" of fresh snow...but my car is hidden in the back depths of the KoP service center, bricked. "Maybe next year..." is the word I got. They wouldn't even let me see it.

So I had to drive the wife's Mazda up here...terrible in snow. Noisy, poor brakes, a chore to drive ... worst "feature' is the ambush full volume radio.

Meanwhile I have a couple of tabs open with Dream Editions for sale... I just can't imagine any other car than a Lucid.

I asked my daughter if she thought it was OK if I bought another car without telling her mom. She said, "Didn't you buy the last 3 cars without telling mom?" ... I think I've used up all my forgive in this marriage.

Happy Solstice everyone!

As far as my rental was concerned, Enterprise is the one who told me that PURE will only allow $100/day(total $15,000). I accepted what they told me and rented first a Tesla, then a Polestar, then a Mercedes. Enterprise stated this was the agreement they had with PURE. However, they kept the rental fee to $100 even when the Tesla Model S was rented out for more.

I also forgot to include the Mustang. The manager asked me if they could switch out the cars for me when they found someone willing to pay more than the
$100/day. I did not mind as I got to try out various different EV's. Plus they picked up and delivered each car to my house with each switch. It made me appreciate my Lucid even more after driving the competition(which was not really competition).

Ah… I didn’t use Enterprise. I ended up renting from Hertz. The insurance policy is $15k with no daily limit, but they did have to contact Hertz directly and pay them, or they would have reimbursed me.

They gave me lots of options. I chose Hertz because they had the car I wanted. Totally possible Enterprise has some other agreement.

Or maybe I’m misremembering. Tbh, it was such a pleasant experience I really don’t recall, lol

Stay consistent Cosmo! Your marriage has survived three already, proves she’s good with it ;) What’s one more 🤷‍♀️🎄

... so true ... i have had to fight her on every big move ... then when she gives the OK I'm all ,

" ...what do you mean OK ? ..."

Just now looking at mapquest. One of the candidates is exactly on the route home. Stars aligned.
Check it out. Some things are just meant to be!

Progressive has been great for me in PA. My car's front bumper was damaged in a collision. It didn't look that bad from outside however a body shop in philly suburb by name Karosserie billed astonishing $45k to Progressive. They paid all without much fuss. Progressive rep even called or texted me once every week for updates and also to apologize that he has no control on body shop timeline. They took 3.5 months to repair and also sent another supplemental bill to Progressive which they approved as well. It was clear looting of insurance company by body shop but insurance didn't provide any grief to customer. Highly recommended.
