Native NACS and got 300kW almost instantly, arriving with around 25% SoC

Nice.
Where is it?
The one Rivian location that would have the most impact on the Az-L.A. route is near the Az-CA border and is closed to non-Rivians, the last time I checked.
Fortunately, there's a Tesla SC nearby.

Rivian has nice charging sites - I wish Tesla had covers over the chargers for both shade and protection from rain.

Wait - I can’t get 300kw on my R1S at a Rivian charger. Is that just a newer Rivian charger?

Rivian does not have covers or cool huts, etc at most sites. All the ones I’ve used on east coast are at the back/side of a mall or shopping center and only slightly better than the craptastic EA locations at the edge of the Walmart parking lots…they’re just out in the open.

It’s in Joshua Tree

I think they’re 1000V chargers from the get go. Rivian isn’t an 800V vehicle though so you won’t ever see 300kW on it.

Rivian has a number of RAN chargers en-route from Phoenix to Marin. I've not been to the Jousha Tree RAN. There is one at Barstow, and several along I-5 from Bakrsield to Corete Madera (and beyond). The RAN chargers are fast and well maintained.

They ARE fast and always work and are in good condition. And they’re almost always empty - maybe one other Rivian there when I’ve been there. Never been a RAN with my R1S when 50% or more of the stalls have been in use, so they’re a great option if a nearby Tesla SC is full - which I’ve found to be a bit more common now.
