Looks like the new CarPlay Ultra is rolling out on Aston Martins today. Hopefully we’ll see this soon on our Lucids. I’ll be sending Lucid a note to express my interest in getting this on the platform.

Honestly the more I see of this the less I think that's ever going to happen. This must take a huge amount of work to integrate compared to existing CarPlay, I don't see why any OEM would sign up for that unless they are committing to it as the primary UI for their car. Makes sense for a small company like Aston who is not exactly known for good UI and just wants to focus on good looking performance cars. But for Lucid? I can't see that happening.

My thought on this rebranding (calling it CarPlay Ultra rather than CarPlay 2.0) is that it hopefully means regular CarPlay is not being sidelined or replaced, and perhaps we'll see some more significant updates on that side rather than most of the future development going into Ultra.

This would be really nice to have, but yeah like the above poster said I am not going to hold my breathe. I think this would be a significant time/resource investment for a car company to make so that it could be integrated into their UI and I don't see Lucid having that type of bandwidth.

Add in the rigorous requirements Apple has for partners...Can you imagine that onboarding/partner call with Apples dev team talking to Ford's?
