Car won't sleep - 1% Phantom drain per hr

True, but we are far from that, haha. The battery temps have been very reasonable, if a bit higher than normal, and nowhere near 'too high'. Charging on DCFC brings those temps *way* higher, and a fire would mean much, much more failed than just "the car won't sleep."
Yup, thankfully it's just the app.

I can confirm that force-stopping the app on Android stopped the drain. The car slept like a baby. I hope reinstalling the app will fix this issue, cause I can't force-stop it every time I use it.
Does taking it out of 'unrestricted' mode fix it? Or only force killing it? Just curious; I don't have an Android so can't test it, and Apple doesn't have modes like this for apps.

I didn't try just un-unrestricting it - meaning that you leave it up to the OS to decide if and when to put the app to sleep, so it might take a while, while it observes your usage pattern. What I can say for sure is:
- Force-stopping it solved the drain.
- Opening it again and not force-stopping it again, resumed the drain.

Next I will un-unrestrict it - if that's even a word - and I'll keep an eye what the OS does to it.

'WINK' means a key of some sort (keyfob, mobile key) was detected, and the vehicle is waking up from 'SLEEP'. It should not stay in 'WINK' for very long, and should switch back to either 'SLEEP' or 'ACCESSORY' within a minute or so. 'ACCESSORY' is the state the vehicle goes into when someone is in the car and everything is ready to go. Then if you go into gear (either 'D' or 'R'), it will switch into 'DRIVE'.
Strange, mine was stuck in the wink state until I turned the phone off and then it went to sleep. The key fob stayed in the same spot inside

That is strange indeed. Could you try the same, but turn bluetooth off on your phone instead of the phone itself or force-closing the app? I'm wondering if somehow your mobile key is still reaching the car, or if the app is waking it up regularly via the cloud - which should be 'MONITOR' not 'WINK' iirc.

Changing the app to either optimized or restricted phone battery mode seems to stop the drain. Until you open the app and sometimes the app would change the permissions on its own from restricted to optimized or optimized to unrestricted. I do not know when and how it happens as it seems random. When the app doesn't go to "sleep" it keeps pinging the car, so the car won't go to sleep. Once you leave the specific radius where phone is far away the app would eventually go to sleep and car would sleep too. This is all theory and I didn't have a chance to test to prove it.

This was not my experience. My car is 35 miles away and it continued to bleed watts until I force-stopped the app. I don't think it's the Bluetooth.

Another thing to add that I noticed. I am using the widget app on the main screen on the phone. When the drain happens the normally grayed out buttons to unlock, charge, frunk, trunk would be functional. Also the last updated time would keep updating every few minutes. If I see icons active after I leave the car after 5 minutes then I would force stop the app to stop the drain.

To test the theory issue is being caused by Android app I turned off my phone about 5 minutes after the last screen shot. The car then showed "powerstate": "SLEEP" and the battery drain has stopped, so it does appear to be an Android App issue with my car and not the car itself. Still curious what the "WINK" powerstate means.

The car remained in sleep from earlier today until I opened the app just now, then it switched to monitor and began to drain the battery. Turning off bluetooth didn't change the powerstate. After force stopping the the app, it did switch car powerstate back to sleep but took a couple minutes. I didn't see the wink status during this time.

Well that definitely sounds like a new Android app bug. Make sure to report it.

Seeing phantom drain now too. Was at 81% at 11am today now 7 hrs later at 77%.

I am so grateful for this threat because since the last couple of days I was going nuts wondering what is happening to my car because I have never seen this much phantom loss. Without going through the thread, I reached out to customer support and they have also not been able to come up with any answers but I am going to go ahead and force stop my app and go from there. Just for reference, I was also experiencing about 1% of battery drain per hour since the last 2 to 3 days never happened before and where I'm parked. The temperatures are fairly normal where it's parked and I've even kept my garage door open for 2 days straight now. Thanks again for this thread. Super helpful and kudos to all the testers!! Kudos
