Car Requests PIN Too Often

Is there any way to turn off the PIN? I use my phone as my key, which becomes a real hassle with valet or in parking lots. On top of that, the PIN keypad has been acting buggy lately, causing delays when I try to shift the car into drive. It’s downright frustrating, and I’m honestly at my wits’ end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The PIN should not be coming up if you have set up mobile key. I haven’t seen the PIN request in years.

Pardon the dumb question, but are you *certain* you’ve set up mobile key, or are you hitting the “unlock” button in the app to unlock the car?

I had the PIN prompt come up today after mobile key passively unlocked the door and I was sitting in the car Had to open the app on my phone to make it go away.

So while I do not share OPs gusto on the subject, yes it happens.

If it happens frequently, you need to forget the Bluetooth connection and re-pair the phone as a mobile key

I believe you! I’m saying it *shouldn’t*.

That’s very odd. I’d try deleting and setting it up again, if you haven’t already.

I can’t say I’ve run into this particular issue. You should definitely report it, if you haven’t already.

It's possible your delays going in to drive are unrelated by the PIN. There are others experiencing a similar issue getting in to Drive after the recent SW update. See https://lucidowners.com/threads/car-won’t-go-into-drive.12216/
