Can you stick your fingers in your panel gap?

Just got my car back from service, they had to replace the rear glass, glass canopy, and rear brake light bar due to technician damage.

The right side of the car looks fine, but the left side the “Air” trim piece is crooked and the panel gap is so big you can stick a finger in it. Idk if it’s just bad panel gaps, or truly a water intrusion issue. Is yours like that? I can see metal behind it too.

You need to take that sucker back. It doesn't look right, even to a casual observer like me.

Seems like the panel gap is big enough (and asymmetric enough) to be worth complaining about. But isn't it normal to see metal behind panel gaps? What else would you see? In some cases, I guess you'd see a rubber seal instead.

I can see where the rubber would go...

I'm mostly worried about water intrusion because the gap is so big the rubber doesn't cover where water would go.

Can you take a more zoomed out photo? It’s hard to tell what that is (for me, at least)
