Can the headlights be turned off?

It’s the back of the car. The intention is to make you more visible to cars behind you. Low center in rear.
Checked this evening and it is red and only seemed about the brightness of the other rear facing red lights.

Recent ones have included 2 GTIs, a Golf, and a Passat.
On most VW cars, if you turn the headlights on and then pull the switch out toward you, it will turn on the fog lights.

How far back did you go when checking the light? If you stand next to the car, it won't seem any brighter but if you move away or just squat down, they are considerably brighter than the tail lights.

On. The. Front. Not. The. Back.

Sit in your car, start it. Put it in drive, toggle the fog switch light on the cockpit panel and watch the 360 camera. It illuminates (or should as mine does).

Turned it on, went to the back of the car, used eyes, seems about the same brightness.

Silly question but can the headlights be turned off while the car is on but in Park?
I can't seem to find a way to do it.

These headlights are so ridiculously bright, sometimes I just want them off (star gazing, camping, etc).
I reported this in January. Maybe in a future update.

I hope there is also an easy way to turn off the displays... we want to be able to sit in a dark car, listening to music, enjoying heated seats, and watching the nite sky over us...
The EQS has a "start" button. You can make fun of it but it is easy to power the car down with it.

Bingo... it is all about how to communicate our intent to this inanimate object... the car can guess sometimes, but only if said guess is both safe and easily correctable. The design team needs to create and work thru the various use cases.

Sounds great, I love the heated seats too. Have you tried screen cleaning mode? Still need to get the exterior lights off but that should turn the displays off except for the button to get out of cleaning mode and you cover that with your cleaning towel.

Yes. Lucid, Please allow a second press of the park button to be an off switch.

That's a great idea! Second press or a long press?

why not have an icon to turn off lights completely along with rest of the light icons on the left side of the console? IMO adding it to the parking will be another hidden gesture to learn.
We are talking about using the park button as an on/off switch for the entire car. You would have to leave the display active to turn the car back on.

isn't the display almost always ON? my gripe with adding it to the park button is that, it then becomes another hidden thing to learn similar to the trunk opening with fob.

We are talking about a secondary press. If you want the car to respond as it does, do nothing. If you want to stop audio playback, disconnect Bluetooth, you can. If you like the way it is do nothing.

The point is to be able to turn the displays and lights and HVAC off when you want to.
