BUG: Air suspension movement with door open

Parked next to a high curb on driver's side. Exited the car (to plug in dc charging cable) and left the door open (intending to get back in while charging). While I was outside the car, the air suspension lowered and jammed the door on top of the curb (as I watched and then lunged for the door, but too late). But the car will NOT allow you to raise the ride height with the door open. Luckily the door was not jammed too hard and the car was heavily loaded. By unloading the car I was able to free the door. The car absolutely should NOT SQUAT with any doors open -- certainly not if it then doesn't allow you to raise it back up! Had I not been able to free the car it would have required jacking the vehicle to free the door.

Right, I always send the bugs in. Not sure if that creates a ticket automatically or (more likely) some human or AI has to triage the mail first. In any case I've never gotten any sort of reply. I get more than zero from the customer-service text system, but that's also sporadic.

I suppose easy entry could be involved in the buggy logic, but the car should already have been at the entry/exit height on opening the door. And it should have stayed there while any doors were open!

You're not the only one that has experienced it. Here on the forum there was someone else who's door was jammed...maybe look for it and you both can complain together?!

I had a similar thing happen in my loaner GGT, a few times I went to get out and it flashed a warning saying beware of lowest setting, but I didn't touch the settings at all, but it also didn't lower.

I know my BMW air ride will level the car when its parked, but not when a door is open!

A tidbit of info and warning:

I made a mistake over the weekend. I had parked next to a curb with six people in the car. All the doors opened without issue. When we got back in the car, I made the mistake of hitting the brake pedal while others were still getting into the car. As the driver seat moved into position the suspension lowered and two of the doors got jammed on the curb. It turns out the user-selectable suspension height adjustment does not function when the doors are open (all the selections were grayed out). So I could not raise the suspension to free up the doors...
