Bank Wire Required?

My home office sales rep kept telling me a bank wire was required for the "due at signing" amount for an Air lease. I didn't think much about it and wired the money. I was then told to cancel the wire, that it wasn't necessary; so I did. Then I was told, "my bad", and to wire the money. After all this, I'm offered payment by credit card? He asked for ACH approval and was told no.

I'm trying to make a long story short and remain on this one point: Did other lessees have to wire money to start? My credit score was strong, that wasn't the issue. It just seems like a pain in the butt and not a very luxury experience.

Can’t speak to a lease, but I wired for the purchase.

Credit card payment sounds awesome, open a new card with a sign-up bonus and use the car payment to hit the minimum spend!

It varies by location. If Lucid has a sales office in a location they may have more options for payment. For example Atlanta only has a service center not a sales office. So I had no choice but to send a wire.

I did wire for my lease in ‘23

I was offered to wire it or bring a cashier’s check when taking delivery, so I did the cashier’s check. And mine was a lease btw

I did not wire funds. For a lease a credit card is good enough as you are not putting too much down.
For a purchase, I would send a check and let them cash it. Takes a bit for the delivery anyway.

*** I just checked. I did a few thousand on a credit card. And the rest $10k or so on my debit card. No wire.

My choice was between wire and cashier's check (for lease; Millbrae). While wire might have been easier, but I wanted to walk in, hand them the check and drive away. Took maybe 4 minutes at my bank to get a cashier's check, after that pickup was easy peasy.

Thanks guys. Credit card worked. I just didn't have a ton of faith in my sales rep.
